Okay, so just because I like a band you disagree with my ability to play an instrument goes to shit? I've been playing way before I heard of hardcore/metalocre. Sure, As I Lay Dying may not have the best guitarists but that doesn't make me lookdown on them as a band. I like them because of their music.

Plus metalcore isn't even my favorite genre, just look at my favorite bands list. 90% of metalcore is boring and unoriginal and there are some bands that drag good metalcore down which is way you always see me defending bands like As I Lay Dying from being thrown into the "emocore" label that kin and Ten Ton Alien enjoy doing.

I've heard As I Lay Dying. Their alright, nothing special, good beats, weak riffs. I don't like the screaming vocals, but I do like other screaming vocal bands like Lamb of God and Shadows Fall, they got good beats, and killer riffs. So... I like any band with good beats and killer riffs, screaming, shouting, singing, or whatever.

It's just that all this stuff is so generic sounding. Pulloffs, open drop c chord chugging or whatever, little melodic guitar parts. The only band that I could call good and consider "good" metalcore, AND use drop C is Converge.

I understand why you guys worship guys who are really talented at guitar, but the reason As I Lay Dying is my favorite band is because their music and style appeals to me most. Take Jon from Shadows Fall for example, he could play circles around Paul from AILD but still prefer their music. For me, I prefer listening to something I'm more. comfortable listening to from a musical point than a talented musician point. Don't get me wrong, I'll listen to Cryptopsy and say they're really fucking talented of course and enjoy thier music at the same time. It's hard to explain from my standpoint.

the genre is pretty well gay, exept Alexisonfire, the vox are bad, but not unbarrable, and the guitar lined are pretty good aswell

but besides them, the screamo/emo/post-hard genre is crap
