Zoom 606 Multi Effects
Anyone used this sorta unit before?
My friend has a Zoom pedal and it sounds quite good.
Im especially interested in this one because it has wah, and its in my city. Also it is a reasonable price I think, $190 (nz) which is about $150 US.

Might be good, but if you're going to spend that much, why not go a few more extra bucks and get an even better effects processor that you'll probably never need to replace? Like a Rocktron or something.

The biggest problem with buying things where I live is that unlike ebay, there is usually shit all range to choose from when it comes to 2nd hand goods.
I have seen another pedal im going to ring about getting tomorrow, pretty much the same thing except $50. (Zoom 1010)
Its only $50 so i cant really see the harm in it if its in perfect working order

Where do you live that you cant get stuff from ebay, because thats where the deals are! I got a $600 processer for $115! Id stay away from anything with the Zoom name on it!

Its not impossible for me to buy stuff of ebay, i'd just rather get something in the city I live in.
But i guess with a pedal theres a lot less chance of it getting fucked in postage, compared to a guitar.
I might keep saving anyway, and check out ebay.

fuck man, the distortion was more farty than a mt-2. It feedbacked even more. And the fucking thing was built with plastic, the fucking knobs always got stuck so the thing went all bezerk half of the time!

You can have your package insured so you dont get fucked, ive bought almost all my gear from ebay & saved over a grand. Its worth it than dealing with some music store jacking up prices. My local music store has a ZOOM 505II for $130! They sell on ebay for $45 lol, because that is maybe (if that) what the piece of shit is worth. |

I would recommend the Boss effect board or any Digitech. Rocktrons are very good as well.

I used a 505II for a while. I did like some of the effects, and the ease of use for the unit, but it was built like garbage. The Input jack also serves as a power on type of thing, and after so many plug ins and outs, the jack always comes loose from the PC board, making it useless, and requires sodering. You should be able to pick one of those up for under 50 bucks brand new, even from like a music store, well in the states at least. THe 606 is just a modified version with the built in wah. If you are gonna get that pedal, i would reccomend getting the 505 and buying a real wah, would end up costing about the same, and you wouldn't be stuck having to use that p.o.s just because it has your wah on it. My 2 cents.
