Bass question!
Hi, I dont know if this is the right place to post this, as its more aimed at composition,, but yeeeeeah.
This is in reference to the Aborted song, Meticulous Invagination. During the breakdown, and this occurs twice, theres this part thats played on Bass, where the whole thing just totally slams...Listen and youll know what I mean. Its a totally huge impact, and I figure it must be some sort of bass technique (Im ignorant in this aspect) and also, I believe its coupled with a bass drum kick, so yeeeeeeah.
In short, Im asking how would that be played? If anyone knows? Could it be slapping, or whatever? The whole thing is just like a huge thud that shakes windows etc. I am thinking its played by stacking a few octaves on top of each other, but again, im bass-ignorant (But the reason I want to know, is so I can work it in to compositions or develop with it.)
Thanks for any help/topic closings/flamings/' ' emoticons

I don't know what band, song and riff your talking about but I'm going to say it's a slap...in all seriousness you have to realize tones and maybe effects can play the parts of bass wackyness.

I think I know what you're talking about, but I never heard the song so I'll assume I know what you're talking about, if I'm correct Strapping Young Lad uses it a lot, but it's not bass, it's some kind of keyboard effect. My freinds band used a keyboard to get that effect in one of their songs. They bought the keyboard, recorded the effect on to their computer, then took it back and said it didn't work.
