Anybody own a Alesis SR-16 drum machine?

I picked one up cheap, i figured everything out except how to use double bass where you just hold the bass drum pad & it plays the double bass for you. Anybody know?

I got one, it's an ok machine. I'm not quite sure what it is you speak of, all i can recommend is learning step mode. Once you get that down, its a breeze.

ya, you should be able to. If your doing it live, its a bit tuffer, especially at the right speed. Just make sure the quantize is set up correctly. I program everything in step mode. Break down the amount of notes you need inside each 1 out of 8 you need, and just go through and press what pad you want to sound at what time.

aight cool, glad you got that figured out. I bought one when i was 16, and always tried to do live "recordings" of the patterns. Would spend hours trying to hit stuff right on the mark. I re purchased one about 2 years ago, and can't believe how stupid I was for not figuring out and using step mode the first time i owned the unit. If you need any more help, lemme know, I'll do my best, so how's it coming?

It coming along great, now all my beats & double bass are flawless & im finally getting stuff done that i wanted to do. I was doing the same thing as you trying to play the beats by hitting the pads on mark & having it come out like a novice drummer, but now its sounds awesome.
