This is a 3 part concept piece. I'll post it in multiple posts, but it's all the same piece. There's thoughts as well as dreamscapes in it and the rhyme scheme intentionally changes to show that. I hope you can also pick up on the mood and tempo changes jsut from the wording. Thanks for reading.

" In Your Dreaming "

The Dawning
Rest your head on my pillow
While I stare out of the window
Keep your dreams a part of night
But don't forget them in morning's light

As you bend to gaze at the reflection
See who's eyes look back at you
Blink once and see them change color
In the water deep and blue

You are part of the sandy seaside
A glow like the sun on the water's edge
The flower bright on the mountain side
That's gained it's foothold on a rocky ledge

Tired eyes, I see you sleeping
Dreaming errant thoughts bewitching
A kiss placed gently on your face
The scent of me your last trace

The Turnabout
Tonight my eyes look at the blank walls
As I try to go to sleep
But my dreams turn into nightmares
And I find I'm in too deep

Changed from stark white to autumn's colors
I see them wept from crying eyes
Covering the walls with my confusion
Though I try to wake I'm paralyzed

What have I done
To provoke this outcome
That once was so sweet
Now listless at my feet
I've lost control
Can't save my own soul
Your eyes searing through me
Are all I can see
You won't let me go
No, you won't ever let go

The Resolution
Withered dreams showed their true color
As the shroud blew slowly to the ground
Would there be a chance to recover
The pieces lost that we had found

heehee Funny you should say that. I just put up against Aunt Jemima in a poll that asked who was tougher, me or her. And I happen to have the kid's cell phone number so I called him and sang her theme song from the old commercials on his cell phone. I think it blew his mind. And I'm LOVING it!

But I started singing with a church choir in 4th grade and was always in choir in Jr high and high school. I also sang with other small groups at the nursing homes around here, at Full Gospel Businessmen's meetings occasionally with my friend and also in a No-Talent Talent Show. Plus I used to sing along around the house. That's mostly why I played guitar was to have something to sing with.
