Meshuggah new album "Nothing" available
Am I annoying yet? I put the new Meshuggah up on my FTP, this time the whole album is zipped.
I've listened to it a few times, its definately the lowest tuned Meshuggah album ever. Actually, its possibly one of the lowest tuned albums I've ever heard if not THE lowest. It sounds like the strings are gonna flap right off the fretboard. Anyways, its still Meshuggah in classic form if you ask me.

Sorry about the ftp folks, I'm havin a little trouble with it. If you want the album, get me on AIM or MSN. screen names are in my profile.
atif-
Destroy Erase Improve was my favorite and then Chaosphere but this new one is growin on me like crazy. At first I thought it was too slow, even for Meshuggah who aren't normally blazingly fast. I've been listenin to it nonstop though and I love every painstakingly slow, grinding, churning note in all their fuckin weird ass time signatures.

i wasn't impressed by the song "Spasm".......it almost seems like they're putting less effort into their songs, and like more effort into lyrics and singing 'cause they made it so you can definitely hear what the guy is saying......but i'm not really into that, i never pay attention to lyrics. what other songs should i check out?

One of my friends showed me some Messugah...
One of their 3-4 minute songs was build up from about 2 riffs...
Apart from that song, they are quite good.

definitly very lowtuned chugging stuff. A touch of FearFactory's guitarsound sometimes.
When will this album be released?

Meshuggah are admittedly great, but nobody does heavy like Electric Wizard. It's slow, churning, agonizing, and tuned far lower than Meshuggah - to a G. Can't remember how many steps down, but Meshuggah generally only slightly detune a 7-string guitar; Wizard fully detune a 6-string.
But, nobody likes Doom, do they?

Meshuggah play 8 string guitars on their new record. Not sure of the tuning.

Well, it's sorta like a 7-string, but with one more.

Ok, all the mumbo jumbo about the ftp in the beginning of this thread is now obsolete. If you want this album you can either buy it, look for it on the file sharing software of your choice or go here. http://metaltabs.kicks-ass.org

8 string guitars? man, if you're going that low, you could might as well play a bass.

They tune the 8th string to F#. Does anyone find the new meshuggah album kind of lame? I thought it was cool the first few times I heard it (and the 8 strings kick ass) but all the guitar parts arent anything special its like nu-metal with odd timings. I've been a meshuggah fan for a while and still am but the only interesting thing I find with this album is the 8 String guitars. Chaosphere had so much more going on in the songs. I've been reading articles about how revolutionary this album is, maybe to main stream music, but this is the worst album my mesuggah imo. The 8 Stings do kick ass. What do you think about it?

that was rather cunt-ish. maybe if you had a question about it, or something intelligent to say, it would have been different.
