Roland Cube amp built for the stage...
I've read about a new "Cube" amp from Roland coming out anytime now, it's a 400W version of their classic Cube100. It's a 4x10 combo with an available 1x15" cab to go with it. Has anyone else heard of this yet? There's no mention of it on their website, but I've seen the specs in a promo brochure from a friend that works at Roland/Boss...
Just curious...
Cheers.

Have'nt tried it.
How do you feel that it compares to the Fender Bassman Pro 400?

I've used a Fender Bassmaster (I think that was the model, anyway) in the past. It was a fairly decent amp, I'll give it that. But the tones I could get from my old Cube100 were to die for...the warmth and clarity, and if I pushed the gain a little, I'd get that slight fuzz distortion...not distorted, just a "fuzzy" sort of sound that kicked serious ass.
Cheers.

The Bassman 400 pro is an amp I'm seriously considering. How much is the Roland Cube?

I'm not sure how much it will be yet, as far as I know, it won't be released for another month or so...I was told before the end of the year...but I imagine it will be in the $1500-$2000 range (CDN). The guy at our label works for them, though, so he can get it for me at cost. I'm hoping to walk out with it for around $600 or so, which would be SWEET!!! How much are they asking for the Bassman Pro?
Cheers.

1,000$, basically. A bonus is that I already have a 1x15 Peavey Black Widow cab, and the Fender Bassman Pro 2x10 has an extension jack that will let me run 500 watts at 2 ohms.
Plus, it has some great tone.

Very sweet! I take it the head is stable to 2 ohms. Killer. And you HAVE to love those BW 15" speakers. My first real amp was a Peavey Mk VI with the 1516 cab (1x15, 2x8) When I blew the 15" (I was young, stupid, and didn't understand the difference between a graphic and parametric eq...) they sold me a new speaker minus the magnet for $99. All I had to do was unbolt the magnet from the cage, clean out the voice coil, and away I went!!!!
Cheers.
