Not sure if I have any phobias aside from what's normal. Fear of heights... it's more of a fear of falling. Fear of spiders... it's more of a fear of the ones that will kill my ass. Stuff of that nature....

Scutigera really bother me, and I'm not sure why. I destroy them on sight. I'd consider that a fear.

They are the most disturbing things I encounter every few months or so. Killing them is always a relief.
edit
They are seriously the only animals I encounter that freak me out, I'd probably be alot happier with a tiger outside my room, if I had a shotgun handy.
I'd definitely consider this a phobia.

Br00tal.
If it's just a little daddy long legs or whatever the hell it's called, I won't squish it. But ever since my friend found a black widow in my basement, I've been a little on my guard every time I've gone down there. and the fact that we have NO LIGHT down there doesn't make it any better.

It's unlikely that there are black widow's in Quebec..then again, graf or someone else can say for sure. Man, the CN Tower isn't that bad..you must have stepped on the see-thru glass there. haha.
I don't really have any phobias. Although, the only bugs I usually kill are earwigs, I hated those since I was a little kid.

I usually see about one per month in my apartment/basement during the warm months. I've already killed six in my apartment so far this year... including two in my bedroom. Goddamn. I saw one in the sink at about 4AM while taking a half-asleep piss and turned on the water. I left the water running for about 30 seconds.
These animals are completely harmless. I have no idea why I react this way to them, especially given my comfort with other animals that really bother people.

I just saw a smaller one this morning on the wall across from my bed. It scared me, but not like the full sized one I saw a while ago.
I read it's pretty rare for them to bite humans in the first place, and ontop of that if you do get bitten, it's probably not too much worse than a bee sting. Although I've never been stung by a bee.
On that note, they've numbed me to any fear of spiders.

I'm bringing this thread back to life because I just fucking figured out that I'm cardiophobic. It goddamn sucks. I get tons of unnecessary anxiety about my heart, and imagine pains, and freak out if it beats too fast... which makes it beat faster, of course.
Fortunately I read about how it's becoming more common. Even after a visit to my doctor it persisted, but now I'm reading about how to tone it down. It's all mental, and even though I know that, I can feel the phobia lingering in there.
So... how are the rest of you lot fucked up?

When someone slices at me with a butcher knife I tremble in my tracks. Guess that is a phobia. My primary phobia is- arachaniphobia. Though I've watched and read that a spider doesn't bite the ground it walks on. So if you encounter a spider and it manages to crawl on you, stand completely still.
I remember in first grade when my teacher said "if you stand still when a bee flys bye you it won't land/sting you". Five minutes later, a bee flew in my shirt and stung me! What a bitch!?

i used to be uneasy with heights... working on rickity 30 foot ladders all summer painting houses 8 hours a day 5 days a week fixed that.
Used to be afraid of stinger bugs (wasps, bees, whatnot) and then i was stung, it felt like a mosquito bite... so not so bad... i also killed 75 in one day during my painting job.
spiders no... i got used to them from... PAINTING what do ya know
I dont know, i have no unreasonable fears that i know of. Maybe a fear of awkward moments... ...
....
......
AAAHHHH!!!

Half the shit everyone's posting aren't even real phobias. This is a phobia, if I ever did know one.
Ideas are raging in my head about what might have caused this phobia when she was younger. 8::::::: D

Spiders can scare the bejesus out of me if I feel one on me. I firmly believe that arachnids of any kind, are the closest things to actual blood-sucking demons in the world. Tis' why I'm glad I do not live in Australia.

Haha. Good to hear you're doing better. I still have severe arachnophobia, but I'm not really ashamed of it, as it is one of the most common fears in the world. I don't really know anybody with unusual phobias though. My mum is afraid of moths, which I don't think is too common, but it's not really strange.

I absolutely hate it when Mosquitoes are flying 1cm in front of your face. Not really scary but I swing my fists around the air then.
I`m scared of having sex with 3-legged horses when it`s thursday and on the weekend

I guess you can't ever spend a Thursday/weekend with me and Paddy then... that's all we do!

I don't exactly know the guy, but I have met a person who has an unreasonable, well, I have to call it fear, of unfolded plastic shopping bags. Seriously, if you'd put a hundred plastic bags in front of him he'd be welded on the spot all day, drenched in sweat, working feverishly to fold the damn bags. Needless to say he has other issues, but this one is one hell of a drag anchor on his social life.

My brother is deathly scared of moths. I don't fucking understand why, but it sure is funny.

I`m a bit sad right now...I was looking forward to this
When I was a kid I was scared of moths too. We were in some kind of wood-house somewhere in the forest and one of those flying bastards flew under my glasses. But now I think they`re just damn fuzzy

Haha wow, that is very peculiar. Wouldn't that be considered OCD though?

OCD?
Yea, it doesn't really qualify as a phobia I suppose, but the reaction sure reminds of it. I only saw it once myself, we'd brought in the food for lunch and of course just thrown the bags on the table. And then the poor sod came into the kitchen and he just couldn't leave it. Thank goodness there were only four of the things.

Someday you have to take your brother along to the movies and record the reaction.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Haha, you should save up every grocery/lunch bag you can get over four or five months, then go over there and throw them everywhere! And crumple them into tight balls first to make it that much more difficult for him
It would definitely get quite a few hits on YouTube if you filmed it haha.

You know, I might come off as a mean bastard at times, but I really don't have it in me to do something like that. Damn, I felt bad just for those four on the table.
I met this guy working at a homeless shelter, basically he's a prime example of the colossal failure of Swedish psychiatric care. I haven't been around there for two years or so, I don't even know if he's still alive. Those junkies/basket cases can be tougher than cactuses when it comes to sheer survival, but I wonder.

I also completely forgot to mention that my sister is dead scared of ceiling fans. Does that count as a really weird phobia?

I'm afraid of cat claw's STICKING IN MY LEGGGGGG OWIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'm afraid of everything and everyone to a certain degree. My dad used to say "There's nothing to fear but fear itself." I was so disappointed when I found out it was an old president like Truman or somebody that said it and he didn't make it up.
Hmmp...
