How many would recomend me to buy a BC Rich?
Cause they are good aren't they?

How do you think Bc rich makes their sales

is it because the quality of the instrument, or the look?

Yeah...being honest, BC Rich guitars are too much about 'look' in my opinion and they come off looking a little...hrmm. Its ok if you like that sort of thing, but in my experience they dont play like anything special, either.

i saw a bc rich made from acryl in the guitar store. i played it and the sound was pretty warm n stuff (without an amp).
but the fretboard sux . better get a jackson !

Yeah i think jacksons are better if your into odd shapes.

I know that old, esp. early 1980's riches are exquisite, but I can't speak for the new ones, except that the speedloader sounds really stupid. Check www.chrisguitars.com for them.

This thread has been done a million times already. OK, don't buy a new BC....because they are all crap. Fuck what your friends say, "Naw man...they are fuckign cool!!! Get one!!!". check ebay for older BC's...if you can't find one. Get a guitar thats not made out of plywood.

I think instead of asking these people if you should or shouldn't get a bc rich, you should go try one out yourself. the majority of people on this forum seem to despise bc rich so it wouldnt be fair to rest your judgement on theirs. Personally, i love bc rich guitars, yeah i admit, bc rich makes some really shitty guitars, but doesnt mean there aren't any good ones. i own an nj series beast, and according to some, its "new bc rich" so it sucks. but its quite to opposite, its a very very comfortable guitar to play, and its sounds great too. so instead of asking us for our opinion, you should go, try one out, and decide for yourself.

It seems that 4-5 of these threads pop up every month. If you buy an American made B.C. Rich that is from the custom shop you are going to get ripped off but you're going to have a badass axe. If you buy anything from bronze to N.J. series you're also going to get ripped off. I own an older N.J. neck-thru mockingbird and it kicks ass, but I bought it used and it plays like a $400 dollar guitar, not a $600-700 guitar.

Buy something you're comfortable with. And if you're comfortable with a bronze series warlock go for it.

if you like the way it looks, feel and sounds, buy it, if you dont like it, dont and look at some Jacksons or Ibanezes or Schecters or something...

There is different BC Rich Guitars... the crap models made on Asia and we got the ones built in USA. I´ve own both. My NJ Warlock was kinda good but my US Custom KKV is just great! That is a truely great guitar, no doubt! Don´t get the US models mixed up with the Asian models.

There are original bc rich guitars..and I think thats well,but I didn't found it. Some bc richs made in japan and it's very bad.

I personally dont use BC s , but in the 80s they were popular , I prefer ESPs . LTDs just my taste.
You have to decide for yourself as alot of other dudes above me stated . What I think is crap you may think rules.

but the low ends cost quite a bit for what they are actually worth and the high ends aren't that great anyway.

anyway yjm is right , if you are into slayer than by all means go get a b.c.rich but if your are into pretty much any other type of metal go get a jackson, ibanez, schecter, dean,LTD/ESP or somthing from e-bay, if you're any good id tell you to get a ran. If you are just starting to play guitar then i would not suggest buying anything over $300.

It's annoying and pretty stupid for people to put down anything without doing the proper research first. I don't care if you hate BC RICH and you can back it up because you have owned one and had problems or liked other guitars. That's cool with me.

When you can actually get your crummy hands on some real cash and actually start buying some high end gear, I would suggest that you refrain from making uninformed idiotic opinions about shit you don't even know.

Of course you buy for the looks. But if you care about the performance, then pay for the higher end stuff. heres my 2 cents.

99.99999% new BCR's sound like shit, and are pure shit anyway. Only get one if it s the best guitar you've ever felt while playing. The only reason i have one is because the neck was thinner than an ibanez, and it was balanced perfectly to my preferences. the only BCR i'd ever reccommend is one of their V's, and even then... if it has a trem, it probably sucks.

There are 2 kinds of BC Riches... One really bad kind made in Asia. And one extremely good kind made in the U.S. I got an US Custom KKV Tribe and it´s beyond great! I bought a Platinom Pro Ironbird 6-7 years ago; crap! I had an NJ Neck Thru Series Warlock this summer; OK. EMG 81/85 so it sounded good. But I also realized that I can´t play Warlock shaped guitars, only V guitars. Anyways. I had an NJ Series KKV and it was alright, but not good. Also with EMG 81/85. I didn´t even tried the passive EMGs that were on and the BC Rich pops that came with the Warlock ´cause I know that BC Rich makes really bad pops.
If You buy a BC Rich You should buy it ´cause You love the shape and than give it some EMG´s. Don´t buy Bronze Series, Platinum, Paltinum Pro, Acrylic see thru or what ever, try to atleast find an NJ Series or if You can afford an US Custom Shop, than You set for life!

Or just check our Ran Guitars www.ranguitars.com they can make You what ever You want and it will be good!

I agree with you about people taking shit about things they havent even played, that pisses me off when someone that has no idea what they are talking about just agrees with everyone else on a topic.

Your BC Rich might be fantastic, but its an older model. And with a lot of large companies for anything, once they get a big name they begin charging more for a less quality product.
People have said that the high end BC's are fine, everyone is just talking shit about the low end bronze series ect. And they may not be THAT bad, but they are overpriced for their quality.

Of the 4 guitars and one bass; 2x12 cab; jcm 900; fender jam combo; Ampeg 2x10 cab and head: only one of my pieces of gear was bought new! My first guitar, which was acoustic (bought it from a store). Everything else was bought used.

All the new stuff, to me, seems overpriced, regardless of quality. The thing about collecting gear is that you have to play like your broke for cash. Anybody can buy guitar ABC for the sticker price of say 1000; but the real fun is looking for the DEAL!!! That's why you go used. I could've bought a cab for $700 a long time ago and there are plenty in that range. I'm looking for the cab that starts at $600 from some desperate mother. Wheel and deal man! That's how you go about things. I suppose I have patience on my side so I do have the time to wait for these types of deals. Always bring cash to these types of deals. You just say to the guy, "I know you're asking for $600 but I have $550 in my hand right now and it could be in your hands..." If not, walk away, you'll find another deal somewhere else. The suprising thing is that most people will take the cash right there and then.

Yeah i was thinking of getting a warlock once but i realised the guitar i already had was better.

BC Rich are ASS.

My favourite BC Rich is the Ironbird. They have a nice lead tone and that body is legendary. Makes case and bag designers put off their boredom suicides. Try imagine one with a Jackson headstock. That would also be very nice.

The only BCR I would ever be interested in would be an Ironbird, but those are hard to find nowadays. The day I get a custom(probably from Ran) I'll most likely get their "Thunder" Ironbird-style body. Or maybe I'll come across a used NJ/custom Ironbird. A body-art Ironbird just went for $120 on eBay...

I've played a cheap-ass bronze warlock before and it did sound like crap, but that's easily fixed with new pickups and electronics. However the build seemed weak, it's a $130 guitar after all.

That´s sort of true. The US Customs are eveything BUT cheap. Great guitars but expensive.

Handbuilt guitars are expensive, hence why a lot of people turn to Ran and other lesser known brands that build customs since they're cheaper. You should see the custom Ironbird goin' for 1.5k on ebay, looks nice.

Ran will probably get more expensive when people realize how good they are.
There are 2 US Ironbirds up on eBay right now. One Ironbird had Kahler! Don´t like the headstock on that one but... Cool guitar!

try esp guitars the F and Ax series have a nice look and worth the money and the sound is excellent

I've played beast, warlock, stealth, mockingbird, bich.

I do need another guitar for my standard tuning songs that has humbuckers and a bich would do nicely. There so expensive though.

I've got a NJ Neck Thru Mockingbird I bought a few years ago and it's been on stage and in the studio with me and has proven it's worth again and again!

My NJ Neck Thru Warlock was good. It sounded really good with EMG 81/85 on it. But my Ran Guitar is WAY better than the NJ Series.

The NJ series are from korea, not US. I guess I paid a little bit over 1000 USD brand new.

I've ben thinkingabout getting a platinum warlock but I have a bronze but it's shit to play on and I was wondering if a platinum plays any better. the sound doesn't matter I'm putting emg (obviously active) pickups anyway.

Ran Guitars are good. Mine sounds really great! It´s got a great thinn neck with low action and the paintjob is done very well. I would recommend Ran Guitars any day of the week. I got one and I´m waiting for my second one (7-string). And when I get rich I´ll order my third but this time with Kahler 2315.
