Piccolo Snares
For those that use them, what do you think about it? Im thinking about getting one sometime. My friend has one and on his last studio recording, it sounds amazing. It was a nice deep punch that ive been looking for, for a while. I belive my current snare has a depth of 5 1/2 inches. I will probably go with a 3 inch or 4 inch depth on my new one. So what do you guys think?

our drummer has one and its bloody crisp !!! its thinner than the conventional steel snare...needs a bit of tuning in the beginning, but goes on to give a crispy 'ttttttttakkkkk' sound \\\m///

i hear porkpie makes the best, im using that 100 buck deal pearl piccolo 13x4 or something, i think i mentioned it a couple of times, good snare

i would recommend the 100 buck pearl snare deal they always have at guitar center.........but, in my humble opinion piccolos sound best with faster music, i play in a real slow doom metal band and the snare doesnt really sound good to me so i may try snares out at music shops, i may go for a complete sound overhaul anyway.............im thinking down tuned unmuffled john bonham style sound, lots of boom and resonance, which would probably call for a deeper snare

a piccolo
it just sounds medieval to me. maybe because its the name of a flute, but i picture a jolly little guy in stockings with slippers that have little bells on them merrily playing
