Today Is The Day?
What do you guys think of this band? I just picked up Sadness Will Prevail at about 55% off of retail price And it's fucking brutal and fucked up. I know I seen some fans on here somewhere at some point, what you think of this CD and Today Is The Day?

TITD is definatly cool and definatly different. Sadness Will Prevail was my first purchase by them and it's a great album. The only thing that bugs me if your forced to fast forward past alot of that poignantly cool noise stuff to get to a song. The title track is espically good and depressing. It's actually the only track I'd heard by them which proded me for a few days untill I bought the album. The rest of the album wasn't exactly in congruence with that track, but I still dug it. Steve Austin's definatly got a different style.
Alot of people wouldn't like them which is understandable. The vocals on Sadness are strange. Like a drug addicted Elmo screaming through distortion for more crack.
You should next get Temple of the Morning Star. Not as good but still a good album.

TITD is one of my favourite bands, and has been for a long time. Personally I feel In The Eyes of God is my favourite of theirs, and everytime there's a "Scary music?" thread I'll suggest the title track to that album. Damn they are great.

One of my top 20 fave bands. Evey album is different from the last, which is great because every one of them is good. Sadness was my first, then I went out and bought all of 'em. The best is a tie between the self titled album and In the Eyes of God. BTW they are leaving Relapse because Steve isn't happy with them at all and got screwed over financially. Every one that has only one album get more NOW!

Yeah it's some awesome stuff, I love the vocals too, I've been trying to replicate them and I think I've gotten pretty close. I love the industrial sound they have, it's awesome, the tone and the drum sound is just amazing, these guys are gotta be one of my favourite bands now. So, I will get another record, what about the new one 'Kiss the Pig'? Noone mentioned that one but they mentioned all the others.
These guys have been a real influence one me lately and I love it, they have the fuckep up sample noise shit that December Wolves used on Blasterpiece Theatre, and although DW are black metal these albums because of the atmospherics with the samples and noise have the same sorta feel.
Hey what do you guys like more, X or Y?

The one song I have by this band (hermaphrodite) is doom metal, or is this just some off style thing they did?

Kiss The Pig is ok. It's their fastest release and might as well be an EP. As for choosing between "X and Y" I usually listen to both back to back otherwise it depends what mood I'm in.
Also see 'em live if you can they are solid as a rock. I saw them with Benumb and Dysrythmia at Fireside Bowl. Amazing.

What are some other bands that sound like Today is the Day on Sadness Will Prevail? I had heard of some band compared to them called Infidel?/Castro! - If not them who else?
Sadness Will Prevail is an awesome allbum, it ranks up there with my top 5, it has to. As far as reinventing themselves over and over on each record, are they still consisten to their sound or does it change massively each time? I'm going to get another record, so what is their least changed from Sadness Will Prevail?
And, no way I can see them live in Aussieland

Their cd's don't change drastically because you can always tell when it's them, but they either experiment with a different sound or take a newer apprach on an old sound. Sadness is the only cd that sounds like that, it was the biggest change for them. Nothing really compares.

Well anyeah I got Kiss the Pig and it's baaad compared to Sadness Will Prevail. I only like some of the songs, on Sadness I like every second. The production on Kiss the Pig REALLY turns me off aswell.
