maple tops??
hey im just wondering, i know flamed maple and quilted maple.
whats the difference?? its all maple right??
im rilli thinking of getting ordering a custom ran soon, so im looking for some col stuff, and i definatly want a maple top, but wich one.
look at the pic i attached, i got it from some site.
i want one of the 2 things i marked (ull see)
how isit possible to get what, i mean, the different effects, is it from sawing in some direction or sumtin??
can sumone tell me more, i did some searches on inet but couldnt rili find what i wanted to know.
also could sumone tell me which maple finish (to call it that) is on that jackson guitar, cuz i love that soo much. i love the transparant black.

Yeah, they are the same, but that warrior, along with any other JAckson USA, kicks ass. You can probably get a mint condition or near mint one off ebay for the price of a Ran. ANd you dont have to wait.
Its my new thing, USA Jackson's are the best guitar are the planet. IF you haven't played one, go play one, they are amazing.

If I remember correctly it depends on how they finish the guitar and how they saw the wood. But there is no difference tone wise.
With the maple top on that one I would have to guess sausage quilt but I can't be for sure. The picture isn't really good enough for me to tell.

Sonically, it doesn't really matter what type of maple top is on your guitar, its gonna sound like theres a maple top whether its spalted, flamed, quilted, etc.
Oh, and that warrior is see-thru black with a flamed maple top.

i owned a warrior usa so i know how awesome they are, but every usa jackson on ebay is in amerika, and im in europ

yeah thats the idea, soem guy posted a pic in the ran thread of his lefty ran warrior, so that shouldnt be a prob, its also my fav guitar shape, and i miss my old warrior so
i just want that insane looking finish as the pic i posted above.
i dont like those nice and neat tigerstripes, i want sumtin wild, and the pic i posted doesnt lok like regular tigerstripes to me, cut theyre kinda wild

It looks that way because its a 5A flamed maple top. Generally, when you see a production guitar with the lame tiger stripe look, its 3A flamed maple or possibly even lower grade. To my knowledge, Ran guitars uses 5A, but you may want to ask Dariusz about that. |

I love that finish, but it doesnt go well with the Warrior shape 
Maple tops are always awesome, but the style of finish doesnt matter tonewise.

tiger striped looks is called flames. the wavy one on the warrior is called quilted.

I meant that the tiger stripe/flamed look of lesser grade maple tops differs from the high quality flame/tiger tops. And on second look, the warrior does seem to have a quilt top...my mistake. I made the mistake of looking at the pointy wings and not so much at the actual body of the guitar.
