Ibanez RGT42DXFX vs. Jackson SLSMG Soloist

I played the Jaskson Soloist at guitar center today and was in heaven.. I think I play like 10x better on that thing compared to most cheaper guitars. The pickups aren't the greatest but everyhting else about that guitar is awesome.. except the price. So.. I'm now looking at the Ibanez rgt42dxfx because in pictures and stats it looks like a very similar guitar but at a lower price. If anyone's played both of these guitars how would you compare them? Which is better overall, minus the pickups because Id replace them on both guitars anyways. The main thing I want to know is how do the necks differ? You guys think the Ibanez is close enough to the soloist that Id be happy with it? I can get the Ibanez for $400 and the Soloist is $850. Thanks in advance..

Are both necks 1 11/16ths"? I believe that is the width of all Jackson necks and i know my ibanez doesn't have that width and you can definitely feel the differences on inverted power chords or anything that consists of awkward fingering.

I'd go with the jackson even though it is worth more...in the end you'd probably be a shitload happier anyways. Plus sharkfins are fucking badass (i'm assuming the jackson has that)

Yeah...

If you buy the Ibanez you don't need to use so much money. If you buy the Jackson you'll be happier.

Yeah, good point.. although I don't know what size neck the ibanez has because it doesn't specify on www.ibanez.com Anyone have the RGT42DXFX and know if its 1 11/16ths"?

You would say that width makes it easier, or harder for weird fingerings?
