Cephalic Carnage
I'd like to find out more about this band.
Anyone got anything to say? Do you like them? Hate them? Why??
I've got 2 songs off mp3.com by them, and i enjoy them both.
"Paralyzed by Fear" is fucking raw brutal and awesome.
"Rehab" is more technical, interesting and diverse.
The reason i ask is because they're gonna be performing here in my city in a month exactly from today. I never heard of them before, but the flyer posted on a lampost said something about "metal brutality", and as most of you would know, this caught my eye.
So any info/opinions on this band would be helpful. I still plan on attending the show no matter what people write here......but i'd like to know what i'm going to see.

I've listened to a couple of their songs and I liked them too.
Their music is kind of strange though, when you
hear them play grind then sudenly comes a jazz-like
part. Also almost all their lyrics talk about legalising
weed.I also remember a review in the Greek metal
hammer that the reviewer(who listens to many strange bands)
quoted:I feel very mainstream after listening to this album!
I can't remember the name of the album though.
If I was in your place I'd go to see them.
I tried to get their album but couldn't find it in any store(well
this is Greece you know).

I remember seeing their cd at local stores......the cover art or picture(s) looked kind of stupid in my opinion....so i thought they were some stupid nu-metal band.
But the extremeness of this music has showed me otherwise.
And if you like the jazzy crazy type riffs they have sometimes, check out Gorguts man....that's the only band i can think of which is like Cephalic Carnage. (i prefer Gorguts though)

Anyways thanks for the info on Cephalic C.

I just bought their cd today....and i must say i'm very fucking impressed.
These guys know how to play heavy and brutal music. I don't know if they write while their high or not......but i'm strongly considering trying that myself now.

The album is called "Exploiting Disfunction".
The cover art is pretty messed up. But the cd fucking rules.

CELPHALIC CARNAGE FUCKING RULES!!! Even though i hear that there idiots cuz my friend knows them, and they look like dorks or somthing stupid like that, but Lucid Interval is there best song, its just so wierd. One of the main riffs is soo errie, sounds like a distorted mario cave song... THem decapitated are awesome.

They do. Every once in a while while i'm listening to their songs i'll hear a bruttle grunt "smooooke weeeeed". HAHA, i think it's pretty fucking hilarious.
They don't have to be all hardcore "BLOOD KILL DEATH RAPE JESUS!!!!!!".....they just sing about shit they like, and they happen to love smoking weed.
I myself have never tried even smoking the shit.....i don't see the point, but i can still appreciate their love and passion for the stuff. I saw them live and i could swear they were all high while playing......and they were so goddamn accurate too!!
Despite their "geeky" appearance.....i guess they are geeky for being themselves, you know..that's not "cool" anymore, gotta be all evil rape axe murderer right? Anyways......they are ALL very good musicians. The drummer is one of the fastest mofos i've ever seen or heard. This guy was so "tight" it's incredible....same with the guitar players.

I just downloaded they're earlier album "Conforming to Abnormality" about 2 weeks ago.......and let me tell you, it owns.
I'd say it's better than "Lucid..." and "Exploiting....". The riffs sound chunkier, heavier.....there's a couple extra really crazy parts (like in the song Wither.....i go into hyper fits everytime i hear it). Just a great album......plus they didn't load the cd with 60 some odd tracks.....there's only 8 (i wish there were more though)....but it's a good solid 8 tracks.
Anyways, those who are into a different kind of metal.....something heavy, very heavy, and quite crazy, check this band out.
If you just want a couple tracks....try "Jihad", "Lucid Interval", "Paralyzed by Fear", "Rehab" and "Observer of the Obliteration of Planet Earth".

Yeah memnoch its a great cd, i prefer lucid though, just more structured and better recording. I have all there cds. I would seriously pay 35 for one, these guys deserve every penny. I reallly like the song "driven to insanity" on thier, a great grind song. I met the bassist and guirairst, and they are great guys. They made me feel like i had known them for years, even asking my opinion on some bands. Also really wierd. Go to lametaltv.com and you can download a interview of them to see how freakin wierd they are.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE IS INDEED A GREAT BAND. THE WHOLE BRUTAL DEATHMETAL JAZZ STONER THING REALLY GETS TO ME. AND YEAH, GORGUTS IS KINDA LIKE CEPHALIC CARNAGE EXCEPT GORGUTS IS....WELL GORY AND THEIR GUITARS ARE DIFFERENT, THEY USE MORE HARMONICS AND STUFF. BUT ANYWAY, IF YOU LIKE THE WHOLE BRUTAL DEATH/JAZZ THING, CHECK OUT ATHEIST. THEY ARE PRETTY BRUTAL AND JAZZY. PERFECT MUSIC TO BLAZE TO

I think Gorguts and Cephalic are alike because of their originality, and the way they are using it.
The bands don't "sound alike", but they have the same kind of vibe. Gorguts is much darker, Cephalic seems more playful....but both bands have the crazy out of nowhere riffs and amazing drumming, the harmonics (not any kind, the best).....so in those aspects i'd say they're alike.
Anyways......both wonderful bands.

No one ever really knows why people kill themselves.....the only person with the answer is gone.
But it's suspected he did it due to stress, anxiety.....whatever.
