Valvestate 8100, what cab?
So, I'm very likely buying a Marshall Valvestate 8100. What's a resonable price for it? he's asking about $300 and I actually think that's an ok price. And do you think it's a nice amp? I've read some good things about it everywhere.
But what cabs do you recommend using with it if I get it (which I probably will), the brands I can get are Marshall, Peavey, Orange, Line 6, Vox or Behringer.
No stuff that I'd have to import like Diezel or something.
And nothing to expensive, to expensive being 800-900, remember that stuff costs twice more here than in the us...
EDIT: ohh and is the difference beetween straight and slanted cabs only visual or does it affect the tone?

a marshall 1960 a or b will do just fine.
I prefer the B version because it has a tighter low end compared to the a (angled) version.

yes they do.
the B cabinet is a little bit bigger because it misses the angle. I've tried both the A and B cabinets next to each other and the B cabinet just had a more 'defined' low end.
works the same way as the Engl XXL cabs and the oversized Mesa cabs. (more room for the speakers to resonate in, thus different sound characteristics)
I had to hear it to believe it, a guitar tech told it to me. after that I tried it for myself and ended up buying a 1960B cab
