Bass head + Guitar Cab = ...?
I moved it myself. Just, please, do not recommend a better guitar head, etc. I am very low on funds, and need something to drive a cab, and thats about it.

I'm looking for the wattage, here, and the cheap price. Mind you, I'm NOT A BASSIST. I want to make that clear before I go any further. i'm short on funds, and Bass heads obviously have killer cleans, and the wattage I'm looking for at a price I'm too cheap to admit. I plan on running a rocktron silver dragon through this and an Avatar guitar cab. Comments/suggestions/anything?
Thanks, and please don't move this thread. I'm not in the mood to deal with the psuedo intellectuals in the real Gear forum *coughFOXGUITARcough*.

i have NO experience with this, but it seems like it would work just fine for the cleans. Im not to optimistic about how it will take the pedal though

I'll probably run my guitar into my AVT50 and send a line to the head, which will power the cab. Actually, that sounds pretty kickass (minus the AVT part ). Unless someone tells me anything bad about this, I'll do it.

Ill say this, its ok and its cheap, so dont expect TO MUCH
Heres another thing, I used to do this (we tune to A, i had a good tube bass head, but not tube amp head) Id get something other than the Silver Dragon (I have noticed you post alot of nice things about it, but in my experience you can get better) BUT if thats all you have go for it, keep in mind, all the frequencies are alot different than guitar, and dont be afraid to keep the lows on like 3 or 4, otherwise bass heads can get overly muddy (not all but the cheaper solid state)
ID ONLY suggest this if you really need it, or if you tune Obscenely low (atleast B, to get full tonal spectrum out of the amp IMO)
Good luck, I hope this set up works for you
* O wait one last thing, the cleans sound like shit with a guitar, because its made for a totally different Sound than your guitar amps cleans, so to get a good clean for guitar requires HELLA tweaking, atleast in past experience

I use Drop C for my grind/hardcore band. And yes, I expect the lows to be cut a bit because its a bass amp. My experiences with the cleans on a bass head have been good. I guess I also have to take into account that i'll be using an Avatar guitar cab, which will be a little different. I might just line out from my AVT into the bass head/cab to get the guitar amp's tone. I dunno. Thank you for the reply. I'll keep an eye out to see if anyone else has any suggestions.

IMHO, a Fender Bassman 2x12 with all the little EQ knobs slays, with a distortion pedal. Slays, as in, if you're looking for incredibly chunky sound ... its there in spades. Tone's not that great, but then again a I used a metal master with it

Thats just a LITTLE expensive. But yes, I'm looking for a very chunky/heavy sound. Would it be better to get an Avatar Bass Cab, or a regular Guitar cab...?

Uh, yes, any comments/suggestions would be helpful while I'm gone. I'll be checking this thread to see if my idea is good, or total SHITE.
Thanks. See you in a week.

Marshall heads were based on the Fender Bassman, so you should have no problems.

The Behringer actually isn't bad.. for bass I mean. I know Behringer usually sucks the wega suck, but 450 watts for 200 US bucks really is quite good. But I'm talking about for bass.

Generally speaking, the tone sucks ass,but yes 450w for $200 is cheap.Obviously you get what you pay for though.

It sucks less than I thought. Less than any other Behringer combos I've ever played.
