Annihilator
Hey, any of you gusy listen to Annihilator? From what I've heard there very popular in Europe but I kow for like the last like 3 or 4 albums they havnet found anyone to support them for any type of North American Tour and they have like 3 or 4 albumes that u can only get import in the states. If you havent heard them there real old school thrash. There guitar player (Jeff Waters) is really cretive and has some of the fastest sped picking ive ever heard. I dont listen to a lot of fast black or death metal so some of you might not be impressed with his speed.

I bought All For You a little while ago and it was good but not up to Annihilator par. It kind of sounded like if you took a a nu-metal band, sped up the riffs, put in a good singer, and added some crazy ass solos. Carnival Diablos and Waking the Fury are like two of my all time favorite cd's. All the riffs are so thrahsy plus he uses that insane robot distortion. The only other Annihilator cd's ive listened to in full are Never Never land which s icredible and Alice in Hell which again is incredible. Hey have you ever heard the song speed by them? it was off of King of the Kill. its really weird its like Jazz metal which i had never really heard before. Also anyone who wants to get some Annihilator my AIM is Megadeth2289 be forewarned though i have 56k.

Yeah the new stuff has a mainstream feel too it. There's still some killer riffs and some good songs but it's nothing compared to their older stuff. Dr. Psycho is a cool song, once you hear it you'll be singing it all day

I don't know, they seem kind of consistantly mediocre. I mean, they have some stuff that is okaY, like the majority of Alice in Hell, and some of Never, Never Land, but alot of their stuff seems really half-assed. I mean, Jeff Waters is okay, but he's no idol. For someone who's classically trained, he seems to have a real problem writing an enjoyable riff.

For any fan of thrash, old Annihilator is great shit. It's just too bad I can't find anything else other than the Best Of and Roadrunner's Two From the Vault.

Jeff is an incredible guitarist and one that is often over looked, I think even Dave Mustaine approached him to join Megadeth years ago!
Try to track down copies of Never Never Land and Alice In Hell you'll not be sorry! Bag of Tricks is worth a look and Set The World On Fire is not too bad, sort of lost interest after King Of The Hill though!
