I think my pc is possessed today actually. It's being really weird.
Anyways, those booklets like that have been around for ages. Probably has The 700 Club on the back. lol Some ignorant person believes that stuff, too.
Science, from what I've heard, is a lot of theory either proven or waiting to be. I don't think the possibility of an afterlife can be discounted anymore than a scientific discovery might be such as the future ape scenerio. We've gone to space and that was something hard to fathom a couple hundred years ago.
I had brought up the feral person thing last night just because I wondered about what they would base their actions on or if it's just a moment by moment thing. Do some perceive a deity or are they just alive til they die?
I did read something by Billy Connolly about religion today that I thought was so true. Something like Christians, Muslims, and Jews all pray to the same God but he's telling them each something different.

Ok, I like that point, witty and thoughtful. It kinda goes along with the statement I made when I said relgion has become seperate and distorted, but I also made the point of human nature coming into the mix with the foot-soldiers questioning why they are fighting against each other for the same God.

That's called faith. If reaching space wasn't an idea hundreds of years ago then I doubt we'd of seen some of those planets through the telescopes of those years. But back then it probably intertwined with religion by way of man wanting to reach the heavens, faith based science is probably better than science v's religion. But you know, good old human nature is thrown into the mix and there's the arguement. If Science could prove an afterlife, then I'm sure the human race would thrive...the reality of "it's all gonna be ok" is lost in this day and age, but if it was there....well, imagine. But my whole view is still the same, the mind(conscience/soul whatever you want to call it)cannot exist without the body.
If Lord of the Rings came before any other idea of God, which would you believe?

SARS whoever that quote is from is stupid.
For the most part science isnt just theories smart guys pull out of thier ass. They are backed up with pages and pages of numerous experiments, reasearch, and calculations. Often which takes years and years to compile. John Mansely should come in here and help me out because I'm sure he would be as outraged by that statement as I am. Even dealing with quantum physics, despite the fact we can not actually see whats happening, expermimenst can be done and calculations made. These theories have basis and foundation. The idea of an afterlife what does that ahve going for it? Written documents by people saying they were influenced by god and the common fear many humans have of death. Remember the time thoes documents were written sucked. That is pretty much all these people had. They were ruled by an oppressive goverment. I mena fuck, the jews were enslaved for thousands of years. All they had was a hope for an afterlife. If you ask me that is just a TAD different than scientific theories.

Well, if you're talking about the quote in the box it was me. I'm not as scientifically minded as you are and I'm not outraged by your thoughts. We're merely chatting.
If history told you a certain person did a certain thing you'd probably have a tendency to think there's a minute bit of truth to it. That's part of the way I view religion. I think somewhere in a place we have yet to discover they intertwine. Maybe dying will prove that one way or the other. Maybe it'll still be unanswered and the conscience will continue to wonder.

I didnt mean to be so harsh, I assumed it was from some far away person.
My mind just tells me there is a vast difference from "God told me to write this" and "Hey, this happened today". The autors of the 2 respective things probabaly have totaly different goals in mind. The later, simply to record, the former, self benefit.

I was just messing with you. I didn't think you were trying to be harsh or anything. No harm done. You start making assumptions though and you're going to writing your own religion if you think about it.
Your last paragraph is absolutely true, too. Theres probably a lot of that in the Bible text especially since so many translations have been done. Who knows if they're even all there, too! But as far as death goes I try to use it for what my life is built on as well as what it says that my afterlife will be.
