How many here are lucky enough to have this amazing blackened death metal grace their stereos? If you think you're metal, but you don't own Phoenix Rising, well, you just lost some metal points then...laugh out loud!

So anyway, I'll give these guys the wrap they deserve.
Its Elitist Black Thrash Metal, these guys are like the Iron Maiden of Black Metal, they sing of war and metal and they truly realise that metal comes from the heart first and then the mind. Its drenched in leads and solos, the riffs are heart felt, you know what I mean?
They are truly proffessional sounding on the album I own, 'Cold Steel For an Iron Age'. The dynamics are awesome, with perfectly placed acoustics which are never over used, just 2 acoustic intros which are awesomely moody [one sounding cold and empty, the other warm and 'matter of fact-ly']. But they don't distract you from the metal, as they only last about a minute at the start of 2 different songs.
The vocals are nice, non stupid black metal variety [Oh but Milo that dosn't exist you idiot tsk tsk], the leads have a soaring sound, they really take off and fly, this is just one awesome album.
As I said, don't let the black metal part throw you off. This is also a heavy dose of thrash [something I can imagine MTM might enjoy] and a huge emphasis on METAL. As I said, these guys are like the Iron Maiden of black metal.
I really can't give these guys enough praise and I think it's well worth your time if this sound like something you could enjoy.
If possible check out the songs: Cold Steel, Savage Pitch, Clenched Fist.
Thanks!

It took six months for someone to reply to this! Wow, I am just shocked. Anyways, I prefer Phoenix Rising since it was the first album I heard form them. I'm too drunk and lazy to elaborate at the moments so I'll just say that this is a fine album. Yeah.

Saw them in Holland. Heard them a few times since. Neither great nor terrible, but better than a lot of the crap out there. Solid, which is rare, but nothing special. At least not to me.
