Adding A Pickguard

yes, hello, hi. I'm thinking of adding a mirrored pickguard to my Ibanez 370dx. Why is this being posted? I don't have an existing pickguard to switch out, so I'm wondering if it could be done in the first place. Just trying to add one to look a little more like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBANEZ-RG-450DX...1QQcmdZViewItem

now, first off, like I said, I don't already have one on this guitar. Would I be risking fucking something up by putting one on here? That would also mean drilling holes that don't exist, and I'm not doing that myself. I figured I'd ask here before I went into my shop and made myself look like an idiot.

Thanks guys.

It can be done. I once made a pickguard for my explorere guityar. and I installed it with a friend. I had no trouble with getting it on. just matter of marking the spots where the drilling need to be done. the downside is. if you don't want the pickguard anymore you have holes in your guitar

Thats was my only thing. Granted, a mirror pickguard would look like hot shit (at least to me) on my RG, but yeah, if I realized that I didn't want it, I'd be pretty pissed.

Just wondering if yours is souped up anyway, pickups etc?

Thanks.

So do I, but I think it would add to its "sex" level (yes its meant to say sex, not sexY).

And yes, I put Dimarzio P/u in mine. A Tone Zone in the bridge, and a Steve's Special in the neck. I'm buying a used 470 on ebay (i'll grab the link in a sec), and depending on the price I buy it for, I might put dimarzio in on that one right off the bat.

granted the pickups line up, the knobs line up and the neck and bridge is all the same, then its all a matter of drilling the holes and screwing it in.

Its one meant for ibanez rgs (H/SC/H setup). My only think is actually spending the $50 on it only to find out it doesn't fit. I guess I could re-list it if need be.

Thanks. I'll consider it though.

You can get a pick-guard blank, and cut it yourself for much less than $50,and then you can make it whatever shape you want.

Yes, and end up cracking the mirror finish.
