EMG-KFK Kerry King Guitar Pickup Set. EMG-81 and EMG-85
Ok, Well I'm planning on buying EMG-KFK Kerry King Guitar Pickup Set. EMG-81 and EMG-85 but I know nothing about pickups and think its a good idea to ask if it would be possible to install them into my Jackson RR(not sure which model anymore) Flying V? I ask because I have no idea if all types of humbuckers fit into any guitar since some pickups come with 3-4 knob switches and others only 2. I have a tone knob, Volume knob and a three way switch and this set comes with two 25k split shaft volume/tone (standard) controls.
(I currently have a Seymor Duncan Screamin' Demon and I don't like it at all)

I got the screamin' demon with the guitar when I bought it (its second hand) and it's really really noisy because I think it's busted (I have to use two Noise Gates, one before my pedal and one after or there's an enormous amount of buzzing ). Also the overall sound of the pickup isn't what I'm looking for, I play Death/Black/Thrash Metal and the Screamin' Demon doesn't have the 'Oomph' the EMG pickups seem to have. Its also a good time and I have money to spare so I thought I would buy new pickups since the ones I currently have aren't really doing it for me.

What's the difference between the Kerry King and the Zac Wilde sets? Except for the collectible punch out card they appear to me to be very similar, but King's is $100 more at guitarcntr. I didnt really look into it all that much, but ive always wondered what the diff was.

kerry kings set is more than zakk wyldes because it includes emg pa2 switch which boosts the gain.
i dont know whether or not the extra $100 is worth it tho, go check out a guitar with it installed.

you're paying more because his name is on it. If you want an 81/85 set up, buy an 81 and an 85. dont spend all that more. that gain booster certaintly isn't worth $100 more..

I suggest just getting the 81/85s. The other knob(s) will require more body work that is well, not that worth it. Do what you please with your money. Just remember its overpriced with KK's name on it.

Yeah I see what you mean but I asked at my local music store how much it would be just to get 81/85s without KK's name on it but it was just as expensive as how much I got the KK's on ebay so I thought "what the hell, I'll just get an extra switch".
Oh and everything is undert the scratch plate so I think that might make the body work cheaper since all they'd have to do is drill through a piece of plastic.

If the electronics are under a scratchplate it makes it a hell of alot easier. If you get the set it comes with pots and everything, you can probally do it yourself. But if you choose pay someone to do the work, shop around and get quotes,as MANY shops will try and screw you.

I want to get it done in the workshop because I also need the truss rod adjusted again so I'll get them both done together. Unless you know where find a good tutorial on how to do that to. (the neck is in a funny position and it kind of scares me)

Did KK always use the 81/85? I thought he just used 2 81's like Hanneman.

I can't really tell, you should zoom out a bit more, but the neck definately looks slanted and out of place.

It might just be the body-shape making the neck look out of place,if that makes sense.Make sure the bolts on the neck(looks like a bolt on neck),are evenly tightened.Check if the fretboard is level with bridge.Anyhow you can get it checked when you take your guitar in to the tec.

Thats a style of neck, If its a slant neck guitar than its supposed to do that, lots of gibsons are built that way, the neck on my friends bronze warlock is the same.

slant necks are the shit.
and install the PA2, its worth it. Makes the EMG's sound less dead... only downside is that it fucks over your clean tones when its on.
