Fear Factory Transgression

I got an advanced copy of this album & i have to say if your a FF fan you will be disappointed in this album! A couple of songs are cool but most of it is just garbage & that is coming from a FF fanatic like me, ive always liked & seriously waited for every FF album that came out, but this one doesnt live up to FF rep at all. I first heard the song Moment Of Impact & was really excited because it sounded so heavy then i got my hands on the album & after listening to it over & over again its just a major let down. I have no idea what they were trying to approach with this, possibly a more mainstream or lighter album i dont know but plain & simple it sounds like b-sides & songs that didnt make it onto Archetype. The album was released 1 year after Archetype in which FF usually waits & works on a album for 3 years putting time into it which obviously shows in this release. The guitar playing is nothing like Archetype or any past albums although the triplets are there he is trying to add somewhat of cheesy death metal riffs mixed in with nu-metal or something. I still think Dino had part in Archetype after listening to this (the playing was all too familar)! Thats why the band cant talk about it, but thats just my opinion & why FF wrote the song Cyberwaste, But anyway this is part of a trend of new album disappointments that i have encountered in the past year. It really is a shame.

Aye, best avoided, I used to love this band but fuck, so many disapointments, they're last few albums have been garbage. Christian SUCKS on guitar, seriously the riffs on this new one are pure crap and like you said the way he's tried to inject some pretty generic 'death metal' riffs in there, they just sound corny. Dino isn't exactly god, but his tone and style are pretty fucking cool and he has a real nack for writing catchy riffs. The production and guitar tone on this new one stinks aswell, he's using a fucking KRANK

Anyways, this cd is so bad I don't even wanna talk about it anymore, as far as i'm concerned Fear Factory doesn't exist after Obsolete.

Demanufacture was one of the best albums i've ever heard. i even taped the Replica video from MTV.

never really gave them much attention after that but from what i gather, they choose a "nu-metalish" path years ago.

That it is, Dino's tone on SOANM was fuckin sweet...

Thats to bad though, Archetype was listenable...but nothing to rave about. I haven't heard this new one yet, but I'm not gonna doubt that it probably sucks....how bad exactly is christians tone with that krank anyway?

Fear Factory are falling fast. That pains me to say, as they were once at least a decent band. I'm not sure how muhc of it is the guitar playing though. I mean, they were never doing anything really worth writing home about. I think they just ran out of ideas.

Archtype was abhorrent shit.
Slave Labour was a fucking good song. Cyberwaste was the worst excuse for a song that I have EVER hered in my life. Blink 182's entire discography played in succession would be preferable to that shitty song. Which, as you should be able to gather - stopped me from listening to any more of that album.
