NEW HYPOCRISY!! DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF is that man, that album totally rules!!! who had the pleasure of listen to that masterpiece yet??
Horgh, ex-Immortal did a AMAZING job on "Virus", on many passages of this album you can hear to the Immortal drums felling that horgh brought on "Sons Of Northern Darkness".
Damn, get the fuckin' album as fast as you can!!!!!!!

Hypocrisy - Virus Review
Taken from Blistering.com : http://www.blistering.com/fastpage/...pidx/4/menuid/2
"Sometimes it’s only through making mistakes that you can honestly determine what the true meaning of success can mean, and help steer things back on their rightful path.
To a certain extent, I think that’s exactly what Hypocrisy vocalist / guitarist / renown producer Peter Tägtgren has realised after receiving the brunt of harsh criticism that followed the release of 2002’s Catch-22.
While the album could hardly been called a complete disaster (A view that elitists tend to have), it did stray from the path laid down by previous Hypocrisy releases, leaving many to believe that Tägtgren had lost sight of what the band represented in regards to the Swedish melodic death metal scene.
2004’s follow up The Arrival was a welcome return to form (And viewed by many as such), but still lacked a certain edge that was evident on the group’s earlier releases.
In the eighteen months since The Arrival, Hypocrisy’s line up has seen a major revamp once again (Joining Tägtgren this time around is the additional of second guitarist Andreas Holma, bassist Mikael Hedlund and drummer Reidar ‘Horgh’ Horghagen), and returned with their rather quick follow up with their tenth studio album Virus.
The changes have certainly had an effect, with Tägtgren certainly making up for the last couple of Hypocrisy albums big time with Virus.
The intensity, speed and aggression returns in huge fashion with the opening cut ‘Warpath’ (I’m not about to waste time with the pointless stand alone sixteen second introduction piece as I consider it a part of ‘Warpath’). Everything from the quick riffing, to Horgh’s frantic drumming and Tägtgren’s returned death metal approach to the vocals bring a vitality to the song, and something that’s been missing from Hypocrisy in recent years, thus providing the album with a killer start.
‘Scrutinized’ (Which is also the first promotional video clip filmed for the album) and ‘Craving For Another Killing’ are worth follow up tracks that maintain Tägtgren’s venomous delivery alongside the rest of the band with a slightly thrashier vibe in the former, and pure old school death metal in the latter, while the melodic ‘Fearless’ offers the change of pace, and the album most accessible moment.
‘Let The Knife Do The Talking’, ‘Incised Before I Ceased’, ‘Compulsive Psychosis’ and the atmospheric ‘A Thousand Lies’ are all mid paced crushers that are typical from Hypocrisy (Although far grittier, heavier and menacing sounding that anything from the last couple of albums), while the death metal blast of ‘Blooddrenched’ shakes up the consistency, and ensures that the three quarter mark of the album isn’t bogged down to much with the slower numbers.
Bringing the album to a close is the only evidence of clean vocals from Tägtgren in the anthem like ‘Living To Die’, with it’s lyric content proving a befitting ending to Virus.
Virus content wise certainly drifts somewhere between both old and new Hypocrisy, but in terms of it’s placing in the bands history, this is at the very least the best album Hypocrisy has crafted since 2000’s Into The Abyss"
-------
And with reading that, I think the satisfaction of guarentee can be placed in each and every metal enthusist that this album is a must buy. (When it's released of course but you can all do the lazy thing and download it. I know I'm buying it after still, these guys deserve my fucking money for what they've done)

I just got this album man, I don't like it at all!
I heard Roswell 47 a long time ago and really liked it but this is far different. It's like Melodic Death Metal, I thought these guys are supposed to be Black Metal. Is that wrong? I also heard some song on the Monsters of Death DVD and it was like pretty black too...

This album is a little more black metal than their previous few I think, a good album. Horgh simply kicks huge amounts of ass, I think he really has a signature style of playing that the vast majority of drummers don't have as clearly. But then again, I'm not a drumming expert.
Kick ass album indeed, highly recommended.

You might be confusing them with The Abyss which is Hypocrisy's black metal band.

This is so much better than Catch-22. There is more than a hint of the old Immortal sound here, and it fucking works.
