couldn't find much of it on the net. what i did find however was pretty pricey. $150 for 8 oz. $225 for a pint. $350 for a quart. don't know how much trouble it would be to do or how nice it would turn out. unless you really want that specific guitar chrome, just buy one already with a chrome finish.

I'm thinkin it's just chrome paint pearled out. I'm lookin to paint my guitar here in the next couple weeks. I've got some metallic titanium paint that looks kinda like chrome.

I have my serious doubts on whether it is real chrome or not. They have reflective paints, you know...

I understand that its not real chrome...its just a chrome finish...but i cant get metallic/reflective paints to reflect quite as much as his...i know its seems too much of a hassle...but if i find it it would be well worth it...

where did you find it? most of the "chrome" paints can only be used on metal or plastic...

You might be able to pull it off. You'll have to rough up the boidy work first and coat it in primer so the new paint will adhere.
Spray paint the guitar with the fake chrome paint. Use very thin coats and allow to dry before applying the next layer. Apply about four or five coats.
When it's dry spray apply a clear gloss finish. This will not only protect the paint from damage etc but will add depth to the sheen. Apply many layers, the more the better(anywhere up to 5 or more).

I think I am going to have to resort to this tactic...do you think it will end up anywhere near what I am trying to achieve?

Results may vary. I'd get a selection of paints and lacquers, do some tryouts on scrap bits of wood, see which ones or combinations of give you the desired effect.
