Behemoth tone...
I'm quite interested in the tone that Behemoth have in the last two albums "Zos Kia Cultus" and "Demigod". I know for sure that Nergal uses passive pickups, never seen him play(in videos or live) with actives. So right now I'm actually wondering what brand and kind of p'ups he uses. I beleive that the ones in his Gibson Explorer are stock, but I don't think he used his Gibson for recording the albums.
Also, does anyone have any idea what amps Behemoth use? That's my concern, don't mind much about pickups. If noone knows, maybe someone can tell if it's tube or SS? Thanks.

i dont know! getting the tone from an album is impossbiel, but you can get damn close. i dont recall seeing what kind of amps they had, but i have a bunch of pictures from the concert i attended. ill review them and post again
ok , edit
this is the only shot i have of any kind of equipment. this is on the left side of the stage and nergal was in the middle...there were probably amps on the right too
this looks like a peavey XXX right ?

as Far as I know, they use Mesa amps, but, it can change from palce to place, like, when they played here in Brazil, they played with a Marshall JCM900.
the amp on that pic seems to be a Peavey XXX.

On the Madison site it says Behemoth are endorsed by them. I have never seen them play with one though.

They play with Mesa Rectifiers Solo Head and Marshall cabinets, for effects they use the T.C. Electronics G Major with an equalizer. The pickups i really don't know which one they use.

In the DVD I can see that they use a 5150 orange head and marsahall jcm 900, I think.
Now they are endorsed by ESP, but they used to use Ibanez 7 stringed guitars and the 6 stringed Yamaha (Havoc) and Gibson (Nergal): Flying V and Explorer one.

To make matters more complicated, Behemoth set-up the huge DEMIGOD banner-things right in front of their amps, so it's difficult to find out what amps they use when seeing them in a live context...
But yeah, definately using Ibanez and Godin Explorer guitars. A big BC Rich Beast? bass as well....

They used a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier and a Peavey Triple XXX when they were on the King Diamond, Nile, and The Black Dahlia Murder tour

It means: I'm not going to be buying a new amplifier for a long time.
I've seen pics of Nergal with a black Dean 79ML and he uses it in the Conquer All video, and he's using a 7-string ESP Viper in the "Slaves Shall Serve" pics that I've seen so far, it also appears in the other video if I'm not mistaken.
The 7-string Ibanez used in the ZKC album... do you think that's a Universe 7-string? I know Trey from Morbid Angel used that one for quite some time. My next guitar will most likely be an Ibanez 7-string(if I get a chance to play one and like it) or an Ibanez with a locking tremolo, I'm dying to try one.

i wouldnt go by what they use in the videos. if theyre endorsed by a company, THATS when theyre going to use the product, but not necessairily live and definitely not in the studio

Mayones has them in their artists-section too. But "Demigod" is the latest album, so I guess they are ESP today.
