no, still with the fucked up tubes, i still havent got money to fix it so  thats gonna be the first thing when i have some extra cash 
theres no difference if i prs the boost button, the gain stays the same, so im missing quite a lot rilli

get a mic...it'll sound 100000000000000000000000000000000000000x times better. You got a nice little steady high-freq din in the background, and although the lead tone is good DI'd, the rhythmn isnt...same thing happens when I DI my 530. I dont think ENGLs were made to direct record. they sound like ass to me like that. Mic'd however, they kick ass.

lol, my amp sound kinda the same for real as recorded direct, but sinces im missing 1 gainstage tube, i havent got as much gain as it would have with new tubes, maybe that makes the difference, anyway, im pretty happy with the way the recording sound, x ept i suck at playing, but the sound on my recording with my old gear sound horrible. so its an BIG improvement, and i dont have money for a mic and not gona get one either, this work fine for me.
EDIT: also my engl has a recording output, specialymade for recording direstly into a pa or whatever, i dont thingk ur 530 has that??

yeah im sure, i tryd a whole bunch of cables, some were cap and some were good so.
and the tubes are maybe 8 years old so its bout time
