so wich one will give me better pantera/thrash metal tone? I was gona go and try them out but they didn't have any on stock at the place that sells peavey's around here.

btw the search function isn't working for me now on the gearzone, I don't know why, anyone else having that problem? it's working fine in chit chat and guitar zone and all thoug...

I think youngguitarist has an XXX combo, and Exodus used XXX heads on their latest album (i think boosted with tubescreamers), listen to a song or two from it and that should give you at least and idea of what its capable of.

In my opinion in the XXX will have better tone, an XXL halfstack will have more volume, but for live playing you can microphone the combo and that will be that ... I say put together some more money and spring for the 2x12, if you're dead set on an XXX ... also think about that Peavey 5150 combo. 500-600$ flat, and those will do whatever you want. As for the Pantera tone, the best way to get that is an old Randall RG head that will run you 1-250$, or a Randall Cyclone/VMax, wich can run you 300-600$. Those have a very distinctive sound, and of course they can always handle thrash.

ok thanks, I'd actually rather not buy from ebay or order from other countrys because sending charges would most likely be crazy high. And definanatly not from america baceuse of the different electronical things.
Right now there ain't no Randall RG100 heads on brittish ebay, anyone know if they are very common to pop up there?
