What tuning & gauge strings do you use?
Just wondering what other people tune to. I tune to drop A & B-flat. I use 58 gauge strings. Yes it is a 7-string

D'addario 10s in C#, but recently tuned back up to E to learn a couple of different songs. Really need some thicker strings for when I down tune again though, to give sufficient resistance for scale runs etc.
Recomendations on 11? I think 12 would be too thick for what I want to be honest...

it kinda depends, i use to play 11,5 in C# now i play 011 for c# to B (for some reason strings are much tighter on my ibanez compared to my jackson. 011 in D on my old jackson = same as 010 in D on my ibanez.
also ive figured out that if u lower the little thingy on the head, that pushes the strings down (on my ibanez atleast) it will slightly tighten the strings
first my 010 felt like sloppy, then i screrwed the thingy down, and now their perfect.
i bet noone gets what im talking about

11's aren't hard for me... then again, I've been playing only an acoustic for a year, so I'm just used to high action and thick strings.
I have Earnie Ball Beefy slinky's(11-54 guage). Very nice strings, I don't lose any crunch even at C tuning. I have my guitar at C but up until recently I was using D, I may drop it to Bb to experiment a little.

Dean Markley's Blue Steel 9-42 on Standard E.
Question I have that kind of goes along with this is when I was buying some strings earlier this week I noticed that the box had usa/mm on it for sizing. Now anyone who is not from the US can probably answer this. Do you guys use the millameter sizing or the US gauge system?

i tune to B on a 6-string bitches 7 strings feel to weird. i use earnie ball not quiet slinkys i think its 12-58 not sure but the 3rd string is killing me. its a plain string and its like a 27 gauge. its way to think to be plain so i might put a wound string there a little customizing.

You don't have to per se, but in my opinion the intonation makes a difference to me, and I really like dealing with a consistent string tension.

Just went down from 11's to 10.5's. I'll probably go down to top-heavy 10's next time. For D tuning.

Super Slinkys on my Warlock, I think they're 9s. Tuned to standard.
.10 Slinkys on the Explorer, tuned to standard as well. Waiting for these strings to wear out a little bit to replace 'em with Super Slinky 9s. The 10s just feel weird for some reason.
.10s on my accoustic, I believe. Had 11s originaly, but it was hard as fuck to do bends on that bitch. Still ain't as easy as it is on my electrics, but it's certainly better. It, too, is tuned to standard.
I occasionaly drop all my guitars to drop D, (one at a time), just to fuck around, or when my cousin comes over and wants to play. I showed him one finger power chords, so he can sound OK, even though he doesn't have a clue as to what the fuck he's doing.

I used 11's and tuned to D on my ran with a floyd, and it was loose as hell. So i just cut those off and popped on some 12- 52's its still a little loose on the lower strings but whatever. I wish DR made an 11-54 set, that would be perfect for D on a floyd.

.09-.42 in E with a Floyd. I'm probably going to get it set up for drop D eventually. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I use light or ultra light bullets(like a .009 on my PRS for that nice little bluesy sound. On my ESP I either use GHS TNT's or I use GHS .011's or DR .010's or .011's(something of the sort, not sure on gauges, depending on how much bank I have.) As for tunings I go to either E or Eb (standard) on my PRS. On my ESP I use E or D (standard) or I use drop D or drop C. . . I don't like to go much lower because then I'd have to adjust my truss. I always adjust my tunings and my setup for some odd reason just the truss is more work.

mine is kind of weird, i tune (lo-hi ) DGcfadg (an extra high string!!) i play with 13's and a .09. as soon as i get a six string(old one is in pieces) i will tune the seven to B and the six to D with some skinny top heavy bottom. I also noticed i include way too many parenthesis in my posts.

I wrote a song while messing with some open tuning:
Eb, Bb, Db, F, Bb, Db. One odd fucking tuning. But it makes for about the bleakest thing I've ever written.

Only a hardcore kid would waste a corpse and bury it. If your n3cr0 you have to eat it, then make weapons out of the bones and go stab people.

Using my Schecter C-1 Classic again ...
Now I'm using a 58-12 set for A E A D F# B. Nile tuning.
I forgot just how much better my Schecter C-1 Classic with EMG's is than my Washburn. Oh, the pain.

Im using 11-58 7-stringers but for some reason they feel too light. Im might have to start venturing into bass strings lol.
