Buying a new guitar!

Hi guys.

First let me introduce myself, I am Joost and I go by the nickname
'Lord_Behemoth', I come from holland and some of my hobbies are (ofcourse)
playing guitar and also creating custom crap for games.

After my DeArmond just broke down on me last week, I am looking to buy a
new guitar. 2 guitars already caught my attention. The Jackson KVX10 King V
and the Jackson RR5 Rhoads sold at the price of €476 and €566.

Now for my question, are these good/reasonable guitars? I will be testing
them both hopefully next week so my question is more aimed at the quality of
the guitars (since I will be hearing what they sound/play like).

If you can think of a way better guitar that's within my budget (500/600
euro) please don't hesitate to say so.

I would also just like to say thanks to all the tabbers that have made learning
the arts of the guitar so much easier, thank you!

Are you shure it's a RR5 for 566 EUR? Sounds like the RR3, which is not neck-through but still a nice axe.

Play them both, if possible, and then make your decision. Most of the time, how well a guitar plays is based on personal preference, so its not that easy to recommend a guitar to someone. All I know is that both are very good guitars.

Hmmm... Do they have the kevin bond sig rhoades over there? If so I'd go for that instead of the RR5. It may be like 100$ or so more, but its completely worth it, as its necktru, has a nice bridge, and looks much meaner.

The Bond-Rhoads is cheaper than the RR5 here in Germany. The RR5 costs about 1100 EURs, the Bond-Rhoads about 990 EURs.

@ Lord Behemoth: If you can get the neck-through RR5 for about 600 EUR you should def. go for it.

I should wait till the others come available on stock. It appears you have your heart set on either the King V or RR5.
It would be a shame not to play them and just settle for the RX10 just because it's on stock, see for yourself what they are like and then when you've played all of them, make your choice.

the guy from the shop called today and it turns out that the RR5 is gonna cost
around the 1000 euros or even more, so Instead he's going to order the RR3 for
me, I'm guessing that's also a fine guitar.

gonna report back when I tested and maybe bought the guitar, thnx guys for
all the kindness, info and advice, I think I'm gonna stick around here in this fine
community

what te hell! there's an "new guitar" thread like right below this one! read reviews and dont ask us! every time some one asks what guitar to buy its always a jaskson, and its usualy a V or RR.

Frankly, everyone has a jackson, I agree with YJM04, carvins are a great deal, plus they come in like a million color's. plus you can get one for like 900 US, which i believe is about 6 or 7 hundred Euros. not to mention its neck through.

your post would be a lot more usefull if it had a actual link to an actual thread.

as for the whole 'arg n00b, search thru entire forum before postin' thing, maybe it
would be wise to start a stickie containing info that would come in handy when
seaking a new guitar and maybe links to sites whom sell guitars/write reviews.

o yeah, last question. who do you mean by us in the sentence "dont ask us", cus
so far everybody has been really helpfull.

I agree it would be a good idea to have 'one continous thread' where people can ask about buying new guitars.
I however, disagree with Rattler. The idea with the forum is that people can ask other like minded individuals for advice or opinion. For those new to the guitar this is advantagious and helps them find their feet, some of the questions may appear lame to some but everyones gotta start somewhere and if you never ask you never know!
As for buying new guitars it is always good to ask the advice of more experienced players they can help you avoid the pit falls of a dud deal. After years of playing I still seek the advice and info from my peers on new gear and kit etc.

And not everyone buys a Jackson!

sorry, i dont talk to noobs, BITCH!

Ha ha, i ked, i ked.

but the dont ask us thing means simply, as far as what you have posted it looks like you have the situation under control, so you dont really need our help. all you really learned was that the rr3 is cheaper than the rr5, which you assumed was in your price range due to a mistake made by a guitar web site; which you later learned in the guitar shop. so basiclly, i dont think you needed much help picking up a new guitar.

Rattler, calm the hell down, you make a good point about this thread being useless but that doesnt give you the right to say that this guys a noob, cause you are too, also, quit telling people with 200-300 more posts than you to "shut up"... if you need to be a bitch at a forum, do it in another site...
