All you Opeth fans.
Check out their site, theres a thing where you can listen to previews of songs off the cd.
Im on 56k, so im not sure if theres more than one song yet. Someone posted the one im listening to on here - except on the site its properly recorded and sounds cool.

You know what is silly? The closed the fucking Opeth forum
Some asshole at roadrunner didn't like people were discussing the "rips" of the new songs. Kinda studip IMNSHO, they first published these songs on Sirius radio statiob, and later made a stream. Its not like they are fucking leaking the album

The album will be leaked alot sooner than it's release, and judging by the speed it's taken people to hear and discuss rips they just decided it'd be best to shut it down as the moderators can't control everything. Still sucks ass though...
I must say I've only listened to the stream of TGC once, despite it being a good song. GoP slays it.

I'd rather wait until I buy it to hear all of it, instead of being a whore and getting it ripped. its one thing to download music, and also buy CDs. But I know people who don't purchase any music. Its sad because the bands that they download would benefit greatly from the purchasing of their albums.

if you HONESTLY intend to buy the cd, i see no problem downloading it if it leaks. this, coming from the guy who owns hundreds of dollars worth of mp3s

I'm sorry but if you really love a band then you shouldn't rip them off and download all their music. Even worse if you're downloading shit quality rips and then judging the music on that...

The best way to support bands is to buy merch like shirts, bands make very little money from cd sales, so if support is what youre worried about and you only have $20 to spend, buy a shirt, download the album. Remember they make the shirts themselves and are probabaly making $15 on each shirt if it costs $20. When it comes to cds, unless they release it themselves, the record label gets the cds made, and than sells them to the band to sell at a inflated price. Plus they get shit in royalties. I remember Jason from Misery Index explaining it to me.

all the cd rips that are coming out these days are very HQ mps. usually around 256 VBR , so its essentially cd quality. ive got a great ear for high or low quality rips and am intelligent enough to not plame the drummer for the way his cymbals sound on a 128 kbps mp3. bands dont make much money at all like DEAD said, they get it all from merch sales, buy the shirts at a concert and youre doing them a HUGE favor. or buy the cds direct at the concert, thats a better way to do it.
FYI black rose, i own every opeth cd and will buy the grand conjuration. i dont have the money, however, to buy all the stuff i listen to. i wouldnt pay 13 dollars to get a mayhem cd, but if its free, ill give it a listen.

I have no job and therefore no money, so I download alot, but I do in all honesty indeed to purchase a copy of every CD I've downloaded. For the band and because its great to have the real deal with the artwork and booklet.

I get people to send me 2 or 3 songs from an album. If I like it, I buy it, if I don't like it, I don't buy it. Simple as that.
A few people know that on this forum as I hit them up for songs all the time

I have alot of ripped music from my friend. But I also buy CDs whenever possible. Do the band a bigger favor and don't buy from Infinity 1 and other shit places. Buy direct from them if at all possible.

Yes, I've recently developed an ear for mp3s also. Before all I had was 128 kbs, so I knew nothing else, but now I'm starting to go back and re-rip all my cds onto my computer in 192. I just cant bring myself to rip it at 320.

do it at 192 VARIABLE BIT RATE. that means , if the music is complex enough to require it, it can jump to to like 256, and if its a bass intro or something , itll go down low. saves space and sounds great

I could probabaly help you with DC++ if you want. But I stoped using it, its to risking, people are getting arrested on that because any of the good hubs require like 50 gigs of shared files. And if even half of that is mp3s, you better be real fucking carefull. Bittorrent is the only way.

My buddy has 190 gigs on DC++ alone. That doesn't include on Suprnova (did they shut that down?) and other bittorrents.

I did not like "The Grand Conjuration" very much. Dare I say it but it sounds very Industrial.
Please please please, let this album be as awesome as every other album of theirs.

I heard Ghost Perdition last night, I wasn't to impresed, but I'm gonna keep listening. I have this habit with Opeth of not liking the CD when I first get it, and a few months later I can't put it away.
