Hey, i know some of you guys can play this song. This section with the arpeggios. Currently im playing them using my first, second and pinky finger.. My ring finger gets little use, but sometimes i feel that i should probably skip a fret and use my ring finger instead of my pinky. Especially up over the 19th fret. I guess this part of the song is played so fast it should be decided weather you play the whole thing with your (second, middle and pinky) or (second middle and ring).

What would you guys do? I would rather learn to play correctly before i start forming bad habits. I've just started to play and practice seriously just recently so i need some tips on playing this stuff. 5 years ago i took some lessons and learned chords and picking techniques then quit. Now im taking it up again and dont remember my instructor teaching me this kind of stuff Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

yeah, i know this lick. i do a hammer on from the 15 to 19 with my index and third, and then the middle finger does the note on the B string. i then do the slide with my middle finger down to the next part

im not sure that im doing it right, and when i play it, it doesnt sound as clean as when alexi does it. im not 100% that the tab is correct iether, but it makes sense

my main concern wasnt if the tab was right or not, is whether the proper technique would be to skip frets with your first 3 fingers instead of using all 4. This would apply pretty much to any song with similar patterns, but SNBN is the one im learning now so i thought i'd post it before i do damage to my playing with improper technique

Mind you its way easier to hit that 24th fret with the ring finger instead of cramming the pinky in there.

Also I’d imagine that when youre playing similar patterns that fast you’d use the same fingers up and down the fret board regardless if how far up and down the fret board youre going.

Well, it's good practice to use ALL of your fingers. In this case, I would use my pinky to do the 15-19 hammer ons. And by using your pinky, your not overworking your ring finger.
