Jackson Scam?
Today I recieved an Email from Jackson advertising their 2005 summer stuff.
One item was the "Jackson Pro Pack". The email said that the JS30 Dinky contained in the pack had a Cedar body, yet at the Jackson website, both the Pro Pack JS30 and the normal JS30 said Alder body.
Sound fishy to you? Either the email was wrong and the guitar in the Pro Pack has an Alder body, or the website is wrong and the JS30 in the pack has a Cedar body. If the latter is true, it could be possible that the regular JS30 (not just Pro Pack) could also have a Cedar body instead of Alder as advertised on the website (and obviously copied from the Jackson website by music123 and musiciansfriend and other sites).
I know Dean pulls off a similar scam with one of their guitars, by saying a guitar has a Mahogany body, when in fact it has a Basswood body with a Mahogany veneer.
I'm posting this because I know some of you have JS30's and you might like to be informed of this possible scam.

Jackson have always had a very poor and inacurate website.
Always slow to update and usually a bit wrong in relation to item photos and spec sheets.
My guess is, either Jackson changed the specs on the JS and the website or sales folder hasn't been updated yet. Or, the email is wrong.

Haha, like those cheap-ass guitars that say Solid tonewood body in their specs.
The only way to know for sure what these guitars are made of, is to unscrew the backplate and examine the wood grain. I don't know much about the difference in appearance between alder and cedro, though.

I would only call it a scam if you ordered some guitar custom, and the woods were different 
But yeah, Jackons hardly knows what kind of stuff their selling, I think if the woods were different, it should have a different model number that they either forgot, or fucked up. Jackson fucks up a lot.
