An Idea

Im planning to get then neck of my old 4 stringer changed to a neck of a 5 stringer and also get it made as a fretless (while keeping the same body).but obviously ill have to get a new bridge and strings and pickups............anybody tried this out??

Ive never tried it, or heard of it, but if you want your bass setup like that, i suggest getting a pro to do it, or speaking to a pro about it.. you will mostly find a bass pro in a big music store (guitar/bass drum store).. and he should be able to help you out with that.. it might cost a fair bit (even so much you might aswell get a new fretless 5 string.. up to you)

if i do it ill be getting it done by a pro

a prob heer is that there are no fretless available..otherwise i would have got that.one thing good is that it wouldnt really cost a lot here

The neck of a four string is thinner that the neck of a 5 string. That means that if you do his, you'll have the strings closer together than they are on a regular 5 string. That's bad.
