Thats probably because its easier to play it in Drop C tuning. You can play Norma Jean in Full C, or Lamb of God in Full D. Its just much harder given the speed of the riffage at hand.

I personally would prefer to play how the artist made it...not taking some shortcut...you'd become a better player if/when you can play the songs anyways. |

So if I play The Blessed Dead note-for-note in A standard, it's still wrong because I didn't tune to drop A? Fuck off, you're talking bollocks.
If it sounds right then by definition it is right, regardless of what tuning you use.

actually, you're partially wrong. Unhallowed was written in drop C. Mid way through touring, Brian and John started playing around with straight C, and realized they liked it better, so they started playing the old material with it. Miasma was written in straight C.
