Fistfull of Metal
Wow, this album is fucking great! Such shredding leads by Dan Spitz, wow, that guy can tear the fretboard in half. I am amazed at how well these guys played back then....truely amazing thrash. This might be my favorite thrash album of all time.
Anthrax ruled.

Deathrider is pretty much my favorite Anthrax song.

I really like the song Panic. The lead/solo section is killer!

Anthrax ruled until they sold out and got rid of Lilker and Turbin. Those sell-outy sell outs.
I can't wait until they do a real reunion tour and stop this gayness.

The live version of Panic was probably the fastest song I'd ever heard at that time. The first 3 albums ALL kicked some major ass, be it guitar, bass, drums, or vocals.
Cheers.

of coarse, it had nothing to do with "the sound white noise"
My favorite is Spreding the Disease.
Overkill also made some pretty sick thrash, im listening to them right now.

Spreading the Disease is some of the best music ever created. they took the Cro-Mags and Sick of it All and put together with their earlier speed metal sound. "I am the law" and "Caught in a Mosh" are some of the thrashinest songs I"ve ever heard.
Yeah, and "Fistful of Metal" is great to. The singing is so excessive, but in a good way. Panic has the best leads I've haerd for awhile.

For all the concerts I have gone out of my way to see I have never got to see a Anthrax show.
Mrs Soulinsane has seen Anthrax but not me
Sound of White Noise is for me a classic Potters field

dont get me wrong, i enjoyed some of the songs from sound of white noise, but it just wasn't anthrax. they were trying to get on the radio or something and it sounded kind out weak.

I can't stand Anthrax. The music is awesome but it is totally negated by the singer. I cannot stand that Joey Buttafuco or whatever his fucking name is.

Anthrax was part of the Mob?????
LOL...it's Belladonna, I think... Anyway, you have to look at what era the music was coming out in. It was the early to mid 80's, and you had Helloween, Maiden, etc. as the guiding forces for metal back then. It wasn't until a few years later that bands like Exodus came out and introduced truly growling vocals ala thrash sound.
At the time, I loved it, and I loved the vocals, but then again, I was only 13 years old. Now, I look back on it with a sense of nostalgia. I still love the music, but the vocals make it seem dated.
Cheers.

Yeah, Belladonna just sounded like every other singer back then. Their riffs is what set them apart.

Uh, what about Motorhead, Venom, Hellhammer, and Bathory? All of those bands had harsh guttural vocals way before Exodus.

dude, motorhead was old in the 80's and i'd hardly call venom a popular band at the time, or any of those other bands you named. frankly main stream music can't handle heavy bands. main stream wise, penagrams are used casualy. venom on the other hand has them painted in blood on there albums.

Venom, not popular among metal bands in the eighties? Look at some old thrash band photos. Seriously, there's a Black Metal shirt in most of them.

They weren't mainstream but those above mentioned bands were highly influential to the thrash movement as a whole.
But bands like Raven, Exciter, Samson, Accept, plus many others all had that archetypal 80's metal vocal style that was a major influence on the early thrash bands.
What made me laugh about Joey's vocals was he used to go "WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!" just before every guitar solo!
