I'm wasn't too happy with the opening but the rest seems decent. I really enjoyed the solo and the ways he does the death vocals at 5:53, but other than that it seemed like basic Opeth. Looks like I got another album to order soon.

Well you couldn't expect much more from the Sirius rip, just better quality and no jumps, which is what you get. I personally love it.

The only thing I think is realy better than in the rip, are the vox. Those are better than expected from the rip.

Until Mikael announced that Hoglan was playing I didn't realize there was a switch. Hoglan was a machine. A large, legendary machine. They played one of the more 'metal' sets possible, though, considering they're Opeth and all.

Oppossed to all the guys that said this song blows and was dissapointing, I thought it was good. Waay better than the TGC I thought. It was more techinical and it had a lot of his good clean vocals and most of all NICE ACOUSTIC STUFF!! The overall riffs in it sounded pretty old-skool Opeth (kinda like black water and Still Life). The only parts I didn't like were the first clean vocals he does, where it almost sounded like it was gonna turn out into a happy sounding song, and the part around the end of 5 minutes where the clean/distorted vocals sounded like some alt. band.

When I first heard TGC, I was kinda worried. But GoP and the part from BotH realy made up for that
The only thing I'm kinda worried about is Mikaels singing. He realy growls well, almost like in Bloodbath, but the clean singing.. I don't realy like that Major key singing. I don't mind a little bit of FX, but between Major key singing, FX and whispering, there is hardly any of that clean godlike singing we come to love from Mikael.
And is it me, or is that palm muted riff 1 minute into GoP ripped of from Tool?
