if I understand correctly...
If you are talking about adjusting the spacing of the strings themselves (ie: the distance between the strings themselves as opposed to the height off the fretboard...aka action...) then no. You'd need to buy and install a new bridge with wider spacing, a new nut (again, with wider spacing) and then a new neck, as the strings are usually set about as close to the edge of the fretboard as possible. Any closer to the edge of the neck, and you'll be slipping off the side. If you NEED more spacing between your strings, sell the one you have and buy a bass with a wider neck...it'll be cheaper and much easier than trying to modify the one you have.
