its a bit blurry, production wise. the vocals are too layered, but i love how derrick roddy uses two hi hats in different ears. ive seen a video of him playing the stuff live and its amazing, he jumps both his legs around from pedal to pedal. the riffs are pretty much crap, the standard ugly hate eternal chord sliding around. but its got something that draws me back to it, and i enjoy it

My favorites are Path to the eternal gods and the plague of humanity. Faceless one is also a cool song, showing that hate eternal ain`t all about blast. Anyway, has anyone seen them live with their new guitarist Eric Hersemann?

I got the new HE last week. I like it a lot, it is best thing I heard from them in a while. The Victorious Reign is probably my favorite song on the album yet because I'm still listening. But I perfer Yeung over Roddy though.

I agree Sam, the riffs are pretty much trash.... good thing you can barely notice them. Between the amazing drumming and the addictive vocals, i never even think about the guitar stuff. The solos lick balls as well. Good stuff, but with a better guitarist, this album could shine.

I love it some of their better work, and it really sounds like you guys need new stereos or you need to learn how to use your EQ, cause I can hear the riffs just fine, it's got killer guitar work. you guys just don't know shit.

haha fuck off BOSE, i hate your trolling ass the guitar tone is muddied by the overpowering drums, and especially the layer upon layer of vocals
you just need to learn how to have a better ear about mixing

Some facts:
- I Monarch is better than KOAK, musically.
- When I saw them, Rutan told us Hersemann hadn't made the trip down to Australia because a family member had passed away. True reason? I'm not sure.
- Rutan is a damn fine guitarist, but his riffs are boring the vast majority of the time.
- BOSE is really a Hate Eternal groupie. Get off their cocks.
Thank you.

I don't really dig the production, too muddy. I like to hear each instrument clearly, so that would bother me right there. Besides the fact the riffs are very monotonus and boring. I have KOAK and that is some of the worst production i've ever heard, so i was happy to hear it has improved somewhat, but nowhere near where it should be.

Awesome video!
Fuckin' hell!
I saw the video for I, Monarch the other night, and the night before. I heard the song on a Metal Hammer bonus CD. Favourite tune, besides Blood Red Throne and Biomechanical.
The guitar in that song is inspiring, I tell all. The weird, pestilent-sounding chords, the malcontent feel, the trippy tapping section, the evil soloes. And the drums are so well placed. The blast beat behind the ponderous weird-chord riff, the two contrast yet fit somehow in machine-like concordance. Beltering!
The video is fuckin' brilliant quality for a death metal band, well-filmed. Quite like Chimaira's Power Trip (video) but scarier and even more awesome! Shiws what a death metal jam is about. Got some bits with some dude going through a ritual of sorts, probably the 'Monarch'. I'm buying that album next time I'm in town.
Amidst trying to complete collections of Fear Factory and Meshuggah, I'm divagating for this. Must be good!

Production wise it's the best they've ever done. Personally I like KIng of all KIngs better. It might not be as technical but to me a good solid riff is better.
the engle amp his used sounds fucking insane.

I hate the production on monarch, and as if it is clearer than the prod on conquering anyway.
