I run a DM5 too. KC Howard (Decrepit birth) does as well.
Try Round attack or speed metal. They sound nice.

those are exactly the ones i run, and yea kc told me he uses the round attack. but if you run it through a big ass pa like its super bassy becouse the round attack, has that i guess reverb, or boom, or bounce or whatever you want to call it, i guess the pitch could be changed to a higher pitch to bring down the bassiness.

Yeah, if you're running through soundboard, just tweek your EQ knobs.
It sound pretty tight once you nail it right.

well i went to the show, and i got to meet and talk to everybody, BUT james...the show was awesome by the way. swerving around a dead body on the way home was not too awesome, but yea, next practice. im gonna try and mess with the pitch of the kick...see how that goes.

My band actually got to play with Origin and Malevolent Creation when they toured over here in So Cal. It was the most incredible show I've ever played. I'm a huge fan of both bands and have been for years, so it was an honor. Both bands shared the same set, which I think was a Pearl Masters (2 kicks of course), I didn't get to see what module they were using. When they were doing the sound check for Origin, his kicks were so fast that the sound system couldn't keep up with him, it got all fuzzy. After a while they dialed it in, and it was absolutely amazing.
