i was having a look at dimarzio pickups (the evo and paf pro in particular) and i was thinking that the blue evo would look awesome in the bridge possition of a black ibanez rg.
but then i realised that the blue evo isnt f-spaced but the black one is. the rg im going to get is going to have a floyd, so i assume the pickups have to be f-spaced...right?
i just wanted to know what would happen if i used non f-spaced pickups in a floyd guitar. would i loose tone, or miss out on anything? or is it fine to use non f-spaced pickups on a floyd guitar?

A regular size pickup won't fully cover the width that the strings occupy on a floyd setup. So you would'nt get the same quality of tone as with a F-space on the same floyd setup. Simple as that. In fact, I think they have all this information on the DiMarzio site.

I think I read on the DiMarzio site that they recommend the F-Space for the neck position if the nut width is 1 11/16. I may be wrong on that though.
