Need help chooseing a pedel

Hey, Im in a hardcore/metal band. And I have a epiphone Gothic SG. Im looking for a really heavy sound for stuff like breakdowns and doing lots of palm muteing then going in to something faster then stopping to do another PM. If anyone has heard any of the bands like Sinai beach, thats the sound I'm looking for. http://www.mp3search.ru/album.html?id=29286&ref=3970
(click on Apocalypse to hear what I mean)

I was thinking the digi tech death metal, but reviews said it was crap. Then metal zone or metal master, or "The weapon" a new pedel from digitech. But I don't know anything about thease pedals and there is no Guitar store around hear where I can try them out. So please, if anyone knows anything about heavy distortion/grunge pedels can ya help me out?

Thanks

you want an amp and or pedal with some "tone"...

how much you got to spend and what is your current list of gear?

as a rule of thumb i say to stay away from any pedal that has the word "metal" on it.

Well, I cant get the specs right now(Amp is a friends) but I got a Epiphone Goth G-400 guitar, with no pedel. Just that and amp(I think on the front of the amp is was something like ems pms ams or something like that, some 3 letter thing) I only got around $100 right now, but I can get the specs off the amp tomarrow when I pick it up.

I previously bought a Boss MT-2 and it kicks ass. Of course you could always buy tubes, but this is just slightly less expensive. slightly.
But I always go with Boss rather than Digitech as a rule of thumb.

You can get a lot of different tones out of a metalzone, but it seriously lacks balls. You should save up for a nice mid-priced amp, like a 5150 (or called something like 6560 now)

If your gonna get your distortion off a pedal, at least get an EQ pedal after that.

Amp distortion > pedal distortion.

Get a new amp.

Peavey 5150/6505
Crate Blue Voodoo

Lowest priced metal/hardcore amps that are still playable.

i'm sorry bro, but boss's build quality is far better(even though digitech tried to copy the design)... they have a larger selection, and i've found for variety and flexibility, boss generally has more.

the only distortion pedal i've found that digitech has that doesnt suck is the bad monkey... underdog of the digitech line.

you can't tell me a digitech death metal or metal master pedal has more variety or flexibility than an mt-2...

the mt-2 has a MID control, the metal master does not... the mt-2 has a GAIN knob, the death metal pedal does not, the mt-2 has a mid frequency knob... neither digitech pedals have something like that.

and in the end the mt-2 still sucks.

for $20 the Bad Monkey is an awesome overdrive pedal.

Not distortion, overdrive.. used with nice tube heads.

duh. everyone knows that, just not everyone can afford a good amp. though, they should try to, for the sake of their tone.

well it depends, for the most part that is true... but what amps v.s. what pedals?

there are some amps that have god awful distortion, and some pedals that have really great tones.

the digitech DF -7 is a good pedal

I think the DF-7 is decent pedal you may want to try the line 6 distortion modeler they have some decent distortion tones, Boss is good too , But I use the Distortion Factory and the line 6 in my rigs.
