whats the best finish for a neck if i want it to be SUPER SMOOTH AND FAST?

1. clear gloss
2. clear satin
3. match body finish

you could go unfinished...wylde does it...i kinda like it...but i dont think any of your three choices are going to be too terribly much different in feel...at least not clear gloss and match body finish...i have both and neither feel different to me...i have a feeling clear satin is going to feel pretty much the same...its all paint...sorta...

As long as you wash your hands and actually clean your guitar there will be no difference. It is mostly in the heads of people that say one is smoother then the other. I have never notice a difference unless the guitar neck was filthy. Also unfinished necks are very bad to have.

Thats the best advice honostly.

But one of my guitars has a stripped neck because it was a project guitar and had some "dents" in the neck. It does feel a little different than the other two, but it's still a choice of whats comfortable to you. It will also require a little more cleaning/care as well. You really should see if you can find one to try out before going that route but i have a friend that swears by it and wouldnt have his guitars any other way

but i just want to know if there will be a speed difference between painted necks (to match body) and see through gloss/satin finished necks.

Ahh I get you now. Im not the best at shred stuff or really leads in general (but im practicing dammit! lol) so the only thing I can really comment on as a rhythm guitarist is when I played shows with my band and played my esp which has a painted neck, I noticed than when I started sweating towards the end of the set my palm would start to stick to the neck a little and sliding would become a little difficult. Not much help I know, but it's the only thing complaint I think I ever had with the guitar. It could just be the type/thickness of gloss they used.

No matter what there will always be a kind of stickiness once you are sweating. Just have a towel near by to dry your hand and wipe the neck. It will do wonders for you

If you do have an unfinished neck at least use tungs oil to protect it.
