Ghoul low and middle vox
As I said in my thread about guitar gear, i'm starting a goregrind band with my friend as a 2 man project (maybe 3 if another friend is up for it).
We got high vox down pretty well or at least it's under way :P, wether its hysterical AC style which comes out naturally or the standard high vox in many grindcore bands like Carcass or Impaled which are more forced and of course what's in between, the insane scream at the end of Cryptopsy - Open Face Surgery, which is the hardest of all.
We're not really good at low vox, sorta ok at mid.
Basically the low and mid we have in mind can best be heard in Ghoul - Rot Gut. It starts off with middle vox and then after the high pitch comes the low one (I think it's digestor that does it, but then again i'm not sure) that says "rot gut" and then goes into the next verse afterwards.
For low vox at least I know the technique that Innards Decay posted in the Ross Sewage thread. It seems to work, of course, I need practice, the problem is it comes out to low, and if I try doing it louder it sounds more like middle. Any tips on sustaining that low gurgling tone with a higher volume? I know the low vox aren't ussually very loud but I think it was pulled off at a good volume in the chorus of Rot Gut.

try opening up your throat as if yawning and try to say "greeeeeee" or "dooooeeeeeeee" but try and make it as low as possible. Just push it out and try not to get those mids. Think of it as if you're trying to open your chest up. It's kinda hard to explain, but after a few days practice and room-temp water, you'll see an improvement. Hope this helped a bit.

Well, I can say practice practice practice, but if you need it now, blow 50$ on an Alesis 3630 compressor/gate so your volumes remain the same.
