Genz Benz G-Flex question
I'm mainly doing home recording now, so I no longer need a full stack and have been considering getting a 2x12 cabinet to mic/record with. The Genz Benz G-Flex sounds very interesting and has some really great reviews. The one thing im worried about is if a cabinet is ported is it a bad cabinet to mic? If I understand it correctly the low frequency comes out of the ported section and the mids/highs come from speakers (please correct me if im not understanding that right). Does anyone have any personal experience recording from these type of cabinets? Or know if this is just a bad idea in general? Since these cabs are kinda expensive for a 2x12 any advice would be appreciated.
