Washburn WG587?

I was looking for a 7-string just for experimentation and I stumbled across the Washburn WG587 on Music123 (http://www.music123.com/Washburn-WG587-i20396.music). Anyway I was just curious has anyone here played it or heard anything about it. I'm not sure how reliable some of the reviews are so if anyone could help me it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That looks nice, and its fucking cheap!

How do they offer it for 78% cheaper??

I've heard of Washburn, i havent played it though. That looks like a pretty good guitar for $200 i'd say

Most of the washburns have insanely discounted prices. Like the X50 B&R.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna snag one of those. I've always wanted a 7-stringer and for $200 why not?

I ordered this very guitar a few days ago, and I'm receiving it Wednesday. I might post a review when I get it.

Well it's gonna be $245 for the guitar with the exchange rate plus about $70 for shipping so for me its gonna be like $315. But still thats a pretty fuckin' awesome deal.

yea, i spose, still a good deal, but i would rather get an ibanez 6 string rg321 for that much. i guess its just personal preference

but the reviews of that guitar are pretty good, every seems to be happy with it

Personally I can't stand the necks on rg's. So yea I'd take a Washburn over an rg anyday.

That Washburn 7 string is out of production, and old ( to the point that Music123 is outsourcing sales of this guitar to E-bay --- have a look ), which has to be why its so inexpensive now. It did cost 6-700$ at one point, as one reviewer said.

washburn 7-string

hi - just picked up one of these on close-out last month, mostly due to the ridiculous markdown (btw, despite the $799 high list price, these things used to sell for around $500 prior to being discontinued by Washburn). It's a nice quality guitar, on par with many of the mid- to higher end Ibanez Korean imports, and has a nice, fast neck (which I found MUCH more comfortable than the Schecter A-7+ I'd been eyeing). The stock pick-ups aren't too bad, either. It was definitely worth the $$, IMO, although I've since decided that a 7 string isn't for me. Anyway, good luck!

Washburn WG587

The pick-ups have a really good low-end chunk to them (more of a defined 'crunch' than the crappy Ibanez stock Powersounds, for instance), I just like a more bright/crisp high-end, which seems to be lacking, but I really shouldn't talk shit about the Washburn; it's definitely a case of my personal preference rather than a comment on the quality of the PU's.

And honestly, it's pretty retarded of me to complain at all, given that I picked up a really nice import 7-string for less than $200. It's definitely a steal.

ya i know what you mean, about the high end/mids prefference...

still for a 7-string id like to have that kind of crunch...
