Some questions about string guages...

I've tried searching for threads but I couldn't find anything helpful. My question is: what is the "standard" guage for acoustic guitars? I assume this is higher than electric guitar strings. I want to buy some electric guitar strings that are just as thick as acoustic strings, or maybe a little less, as I plan to downtune a lot and I have a string-through body tailpiece. I'm also completely used to playing an acoustic with relatively high action.

Just pointing out something like "Medium-heavy Elixir strings" or "heavy D'arrio strings" would be useful, but so would the actual guage numbers. Thanks in advance for any help.

13's are what you might like. They are thick and you will more then likely need to use a higher action to play them.

Is it easy to pull of pinch harmonics on those? And high action isn't what I need, I just thought I'd point out that I CAN play on something with high action. I hear .9 is the regular electric guage, so how's the guage 11 and 12 like? 13 is the same as a standard acoustic guage?

I have 10's on my electric and 12's on my acoustic (standard). I would say that anything much higher than 12's on an acoustic would make it fuckin hard to do bends.
And bigger gauges only suit electric if you plan on downtuning, otherwise it is brutal on your fingers.

I don't find that higher gauges are brutal on the fingers. I guess I just had strong fingers from the start. I find that with higher gauges, it's harder to set up your action as low and without fret buzz. Some people say it's harder to play fast with higher gauges because of more string tension, but I have no problem with that.

12's are the standard on acoustic, I believe. My acoustic has 12's. I use 11's in D for my electric, but 10's are probably more common for D - E tuning. I like the extra thickness in sound I get on the 3rd string with 11's.

I would have to agree. If you don't plan on down tunning the thicker strings are hell on your fingers. Usually I play in drop c or Standard D but I find when I try to play in E with the same strings it's hell for my fingers. Especially when trying to play fast.
