Ibanez S Series-Yay or Nay?
I was looking at some Ibanez S-series guitars. Esspecially the S470.
I have never tried a guitar with this Zero Point System. But I like the fact that it is a screw on bar and the guitar itself looks good.
Oh and on another model it has a D-Tunner. What exactly is that?
Well have any of you tried out these guitars? How are they?

The newest S series, the S520EX, looks nice.

A lot of people here hate the ZR trem. You can adjust it so the effort needed is more or less.
The ZR trem is heavy and takes out a lot of tonewood. The S series already has less tonewood than normal. Some pickups may not sound good in it. A lot of pro's use S470's, though.

I played one to try it out a few months ago. I read up on the ZR trem and thought that it sounded like a great ideal. To bad they used shit materials to make the bridge. I was not impressed The pups were junk too.
It had some nice wood and the fretboard felt good but it would take a little work to get it playing good. The only thing to do with the bridge though is lock it, block it, and pray for the best. It was very unstable despite useing a roller bearing pivot.

I like that Zero Point system 'cause with my Jackson changing tuning takes a fucking lot of time because i have to remove the plate from the guitar and use the screws and fukk around.

The edge is far from the best tremolo...
Sorry but the Kahler wins that award.

i havent tried a kahler... but out of everything i have tried, the edge stays in tune perfectly as long as its locked up. Guitar wise... i hate my RG 370dx now... i just got a BC Rich Jr. V and fell in love.
The balanace keeps the neck pretty high, so my wrist doesnt get stiff from playing... and the Jr. V is larger and thicker than King Vs... so it doesnt feel so much like a toy... yeah, skip ibanez, get something else.

Obviously it's about opinion jackass.
I don't mind the actual bridge itself but the bar that comes with it is pathetic.
And I never said anything was wrong with the neck. Ibanez are great guitars but just have shitty trem bars-IMO. That's why I am custom making my own bar for the guitar.
I still like my Floyd Rose bridges better.I have tried a Kahler before and they also kick ass. I want to change the Floyd on my B.C. Rich Warlock to a Kahler. However I want to keep the Floyd Rose double locking 2-point tremelo on my Jackson King V.

well I recieved the ibanez S7420 7 string model for free, im still in the process of setting it up, the previous owner fucked it up big time. I have to order parts from ibanez and what not. I probably would have never bought a 7-string in my life, or an ibanez S, but its cool how i just got one, fuckin around with a 7-string would be cool.

the angle on the neck isnt high enough for me, so my wrist gets sore from powerchording... because i have to bend my hand so far back. This mostly has to do with the location of the round strap thingies... and the height. Since the strap thingies are on the sides, the weighting of the guitar makes the neck want to stay horizontal... so its just a pain in general. And i tend to play the ibanez lower than my v because the ibanez isn't as comfortable when its high up... it likes to bite at my nipple rings...
