buzz on first fret
a few of my old guitars developed this problem, now that i have a better guitar i want to avoid this at all costs, how can I make sure this does not happen again?

My guess is that its to do with the nut, and it wearing down over a period of time, so try replacing it if the problem starts again (assuming you've tried adjusting the truss rod etc.)

My Ibanez buzzed hard until one day the open A would even buzz and worse....go flat in seconds... and someone here suggested replacing the nut which solved everything.

is that the nut with the rollers and bearings and stuff. that is the coolest shit!
if you dont nkow and havent tried. nut, bridge, and truss rod all probly need to be adjusted.
