Les Pauls
I was just wondering if anyone knew a lot of shredders (or metal guitarists who can play) who use a Les Paul. Of course I know Jimmy Page, Slash and Zakk Wylde use Les Pauls and are famous for it. Are there any other metal guitarists out there (seems people just use Jacksons or other guitars which are renowned for shredding)

another question is that do they play as fast as they do when they are playing a les paul?
Yeah free
Guy is moving house and didn't want it (he is a bassist any way) so was my lucky day. Almost got enough guitars for a car boot sale

it will only be a 3rd choice guitar (as in if the other guitars blow up or break strings - it becomes a last resort)

Most shred guitarists like Vai and Petruchi use Ibanez I recall

I have seen guys shred it up with les pauls. I like the les paul custom guitars.
Thats the one that Zakk Wylde mostly plays. I have played them before and have found them to be real comfortable for me to play. The only thing is when I stand up it gets a bit heavy at times. But they define tly have the sound.

I agree the headstock is the most ugliest thing i have ever seen. I got some 70's acoustic thing and that epiphone which i tihnk i will be pawning to get money for something a bit more fancier. Saying that I like the sound on some cheap electric guitars - they just scream and die and its a proper fight to play it.
Sometimes i like that

jeff hanneman used one at the Ultimate Revenge for Disco show in 1985... it was black with white bindings... in trems of speed, he was playing faster than normal
kerry king was using a red and grey mockingbird and tom araya was using a black mockingbird bass
its my favorite slayer show

I know that Peter Lindgren from Opeth uses a Les Paul sometimes, but uses PRS and Jackson too

Epiphone is a brother company of gibson, not a model of guitar....
I own a Epiphone Les Paul Studio and an LP100 neither of which are Jr models. The epiphone junior model is just a starter package you get with a small amp and cables and stuff if you are a beginner.
I found that my Epi LP studio ($600 CDN) has all of the same equipment as the gibson, although it was made my slave workers i assume compared to the gibson version ($2000 CDN) which is USA made. Not sure about the pickups though, they could be different.

I really like the Les Paul. I intended on getting one during my last guitar purchase outing but I just couldn’t get over the weight (I have lower back issues).
In fact, one of the nicest guitars I played was a used Gibson Les Paul at Guitar Center. It was Ace Frehly’s signature model (sunburst/3 pickups/gay Ace Frehly inlay on the headstock). It sounded awesome, played very well and they had it for a good price. However, I didn’t buy it because of Ace’s gay face starting back at me from the headstock.
