I think the closest you could get to that sound is if you push your whammy bar (if you have one) as much down as you can and than pick the low E string and raise it a little, or the A string, or first the E and than the A string. That sounds kind of a little like a motorcycle or a car or something...

really, hes quoted having used a vibrator. most devices make a funny sound near the pickups. try a controller for an xbox...it makes funny engine revings sounds!
remote controls make clicking sounds

that sound is his car, they backed it up in the studio and put a mic next to the exhaust. i think it's either a lamborghini or a ferrari, cant remember which (probably the former). i think in the video for the song david lee roth is shown messing about with a hairdryer over this part, but thats not what made the sound
